Family ownership keeps company focused on outstanding service, excellent pricing
When F. L. And Cleta Davis opened F.L. Davis Ace Home Building & Hardware Co. in 1960, they focused on providing knowledgeable customer service and competitive pricing. Now, more than 50 years later, president Renae Davis Estes said she strives to maintain the values established by her parents.
“Our mission is to provide consistent and superior customer satisfaction in a family environment in the communities we serve,” she said. “It makes me very proud of all the people I work with that they make the customer feel important to us, and they claim ownership.” With locations in Heber Springs, Greers Ferry and Sherwood, customers are sure to find qualified staff members and reliable products at F. L. Davis. Many staff members have been with the business since Estes took the reins in 1998, and all staff members stay up to date on the latest advances in the building and hardware industry.
“We do continuous training,” Estes said. “That is very important for us to keep up with how fast things change.”
The store’ s extensive product line includes Stihl tool s ; Weber, Traeger and Big Green Egg grills; Benjamin Moore, Clark + Kensington and Valspar paints; Oakley sunglasses and apparel; and unique furniture for both indoor and outdoor living spaces.
In addition, the store offers installation of seamless gutters, insulation, cabinets, closets, countertops, garage doors and flooring, as well as outdoor-power-equipment repairs.
Customers are the most important part of the business, Estes said, and staff members focus their attention on customers and their needs.
Estes added that chatting with customers is her favorite part of the workday.
“I love it when I hear a customer take ownership and refer to the store as ‘my Ace store in Heber Springs’ or ‘my Ace store in Greers Ferry,’” she said. “We feel very strongly about being a participating part of our communities, and we strive to give back to the communities that support us.”
