SEARCY ATHLETIC CLUB

Family-owned health club offers latest amenities

-

Searcy Athletic Club strives to serve the Searcy community with the latest and best in exercise equipment, facilities and amenities.

The club, owned by Dr. David Staggs, began as a wellness-testing company in 1986 and expanded into a health club in 1991.

The 39,000-square-foot facility offers a host of workout options, including Cybex resistance-training machines, Hammer Strength plate-loaded machines and free weights.

The club also boasts new cardiovascular machines, which feature personal televisions, internet and Lifescape courses that take users through natural settings, U.S. cities and destinations abroad.

Members may exercise in the coed workout area or the women’s center — the only private women’s gym in Searcy — which features Cybex resistance-training machines, free weights and cardiovascular equipment, as well as a Rogue rowing machine and a StairMaster stair-climbing machine.

Group exercise options abound, and classes are tailored to meet the needs of both experienced and beginning participants. Members can choose from more than 60 classes per week, including Rip, PiYo, yoga, Cize, Barre, spin, Zumba, Move Strong, seniors’ classes and after-school children’s programs.

Child care is available, and tanning is included with memberships. Members can use the locker rooms, hot tubs, saunas and smoothie bar, as well as the indoor walking court, outdoor pool, racquetball court and full-size basketball court.

Wellspring Spa, a relaxing oasis inside Searcy Athletic Club, features licensed professionals in nail care, massage therapy and esthetic services.
