Bubbly personalities, quality work lead to longevity

Shelton’s Jewelry has long been a staple business in Heber Springs. In fact, the jewelry store has been in business for a total of 22 years and has been in its downtown Heber Springs location for 15 years.

Kathy Shelton, co-owner, said the staff at Shelton’s Jewelry treats the customers like family because they are extended family to the staff. She said she loves co-owning the business in the Heber Springs community because of the scenery and the honesty and congeniality of the people.

Shelton said her husband is the primary jeweler for the business and that the two of them make a great team.

“My husband is a jewelry designer. That is his specialty — to hand-carve that perfect piece of jewelry just for the customer,” she said. “He is also great with repairs as well. And, of course, I’m pretty good at visiting and waiting on customers, so we make a great pair. This is the perfect business for us. We love it.”

Shelton added that she adores meeting the customers and helping them select the jewelry their hearts desire.

“My favorite part is visiting with customers and helping them with that perfect piece of jewelry just for them,” she said. “I love our visits and getting to know them.”

Shelton’s Jewelry carries Allison Kaufman, Ronaldo, Arista, Southern Gates, Seiko, Aiden, Cross Pens, Stuller and Quality Gold. The business offers custom design, as well as jewelry repair.

Because of the addition of Shelton’s nephew Jon and his wife, Miranda, who have been with the company for two years now, the store is open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
