He attended First Assembly of God North Little Rock. He was born on June 8, 1949, to Otha Irwin Dorn Sr. and Lorene Hutson Dorn in Houston, Texas.

––––– – –––– MELISA ANN ( MARTIN) ELLERMANHA­THCOCK died of sepsis February 24, 2017 in Little Rock, Ark.. MeLisa was born September 30, 1956 in Vincennes, Ind. to the late Robert Carol Martin & Betty Ann ( Miller) Martin.

She is survived by her devoted husband, James Hathcock, one son, Jesse Ellerman and a grand- daughter, Morgan Ellerman, all of Little Rock, and her mother, Betty Martin of Murfreesbo­ro, Tenn. MeLisa is also survived by one sister, Melinda ( David) Peck, Tenn., and two brothers, Thomas Martin ( Vanessa) of LaPorte, Texas and James Martin, Tennessee. She was much loved by her nieces and nephews, the Hathcock family, children and grandchild­ren, and Miller cousins in Indiana.

MeLisa worked as an RN for over 30 years, most recently in Hospice Care. Jim, MeLisa and Morgan are believers who assemble with the Little Rock Church.

––––– – –––– ELAINE LUSK GOSS, 93, was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Gladys Butler Lusk and Thomas Lusk.

She survived her three brothers, Bruce ( Glenna), Conway and Harold Lusk, all of Louisiana. Elaine was raised in Plaquemine, Louisiana, and graduated from Louisiana State University in 1944 with a major in Home Economics and a minor in Sculpture. After teaching Home Economics several years in Louisiana, Elaine moved to McGehee, Arkansas to teach high school, and there she met Paul Goss, her husband of41 years. They moved to Paul’s hometown of North Little Rock where Elaine taught at North Little Rock High School from 1947- 1950 and raised a family of three girls, the late Constance Goss ( David Blasingame), the late Carolyn Goss ( Jerry Dobson), and Rachel Goss ( Jack Holm), of San Jose, California. A member of First United Methodist Church since 1947, Elaine enjoyed life amongst her extended family and friends. Elaine loved her seven grandchild­ren and two great- grandchild­ren as well as many nieces and nephews. After her children were grown Elaine returned to her artistic roots and spent the last forty years of her life creating a family legacy of sculpture and paintings. She will be missed.

He was a retired drug rehabilita­tion counselor for the Arkansas Department of Correction­s and retired in 1999. Mr. Mosley served on various organizati­ons in and around the State as a drug rehab counselor. His motto was, “One Day at a Time.”

––––– – –––– DOROTHY MAE SATTERFIEL­D passed away, February 27, 2017. She was born January 18, 1931 in Corpus Christi, Texas to the late Jim and Nora Creech of Rogers, Ark.

Do r o t h y moved to northwest Arkansas at a very early age and graduated from Rogers High School. She went on to graduate from the Baptist School of Nursing in Little Rock and began a career in nursing as a registered nurse. She married in 1951 and raised her children in North Little Rock until her husband’s untimely death in 1992.

“Grandma Dot” has always taken great joy in her children, grandchild­ren and great- grandchild­ren, but also contribute­d greatly to the lives of numerous other young people struggling to find their way in life. She was everybody’s “mom” or grandma.

Dorothy enjoyed traveling and made several trips with her church group to places like Pasadena, Calif., to the Rose Festival, to New York, N. Y.; Hawaii, and Israel. She also enjoyed traveling with her family to many domestic points such as San Francisco, Washington, D. C. and many campground­s all over the South.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, J. W. “Dub” Satterfiel­d, and very recently her sister, Margaret Letteer, and two brothers and a grandson. Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Sacrey of Hideaway, Texas; three sons, Bill Satterfiel­d of Sherwood, Mark Satterfiel­d of Springdale, Ark., and James Satterfiel­d of North Little Rock; seven grandchild­ren, 11 great- grandchild­ren and three great- great- grandchild­ren.

Smith, Jr. of Little Rock; her parents, Bill and Nell Glenn of Greenbrier; her sister, Brenda Drawbaugh of Conway; her daughter, Deana Luyet ( Thomas) of Wye Mountain; her son, Glenn Smith ( Alicia) of Little Rock; five grandchild­ren, Preston Smith, Nathan Luyet, Trevor Luyet, Mitchell Luyet, and Presley Smith; her nephew, Douglas Drawbaugh ( Jennifer) and their children of Conway; and countless cousins.

Doris was a childcare provider in her home for 29 years and cared for many children she loved. She was married to her husband for 50 years and enjoyed traveling the state with him and going to her grandchild­ren’s activities. She enjoyed going out with her friends having margaritas, loved expensive purses, jewelry and clothes; shopping was her “thing”. She was an excellent cook and she had an amazing giving heart.

He practiced medicine for 40 years. Dr. Abrams earned his education beginning in England Ark., Southern Arkansas University, Bachelor of Science at Arkansas State Teachers College, Master of Science at University of North Texas. While attending UNT, Dr. Abrams performed research funded by NASA. He then proceeded into his medical education at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, graduating in 1974. Dr. Abrams specialize­d in the area of Family Medicine, and demonstrat­ed love and care for his patients. He loved to bass fish, spend time outside, and enjoyed the Arkansas Razorback football seasons for most of his life. He left this life surrounded by family, and is now in his true home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Those around and that knew him well called him “Little Boy”. Darrell served in the United States Army during Vietnam while deployed with the Army battalion called, “The Big Red One”. ––––– – –––– MONTICELLO — Dr. Claude H. Babin, a longtime resident of Monticello, Ark., passed away on Feburary 25, 2017, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Dr. Babin was born, February 6, 1924, in Baton Rouge, La., the son of Ventress Victor Babin and Essie Bond Babin. He received a B. A. Degree from Louisiana State University in 1945; a M. A. Degree from of the University of Wisconsin- Madison; and a Ph. D. from Tulane University in 1954. In September 1954, Dr. Babin was appointed to the faculty of Arkansas A& M College, now the University of Arkansas at Monticello. He served as Professor of History and Political Science, Academic Dean and President of Arkansas A & M. When the College became a part of the University of Arkansas System in 1971, Dr. Babin served as Chancellor of the University of Arkansas at Monticello until 1977, when at his request, he returned to teaching as a Professor of History until his retirement in 1992. Dr. Babin was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Monticello.

Dr. Babin was predecease­d by his wife, Barbara Ann Murphy, the love of his life, his parents and twin brother, Clifford V. Babin. Survivors include a son, Claude Hunter Babin Jr., his wife, Joyce and a granddaugh­ter, Catherine Babin, all of Little Rock, and a brother, Harold B. Babin, of Zachary, La., along with many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Cook was a 1959 graduate of Searcy High School and a member of the Church of Christ. He was a well known and highly regarded car salesman of 55 years, working the longest part of his career for Carder Buick- Olds.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne Bernel Cook and Melvin McCoy Cook; and one sister, Naomi Louise Gilliam. He is survived by two sons, Ronald Paul Cook ( Ann) of Little Rock and Paul Allen Cook Jr. of Sherwood; a daughter, Paula Ann Cowden ( Doug) of Hendersonv­ille, Tenn.; grandchild­ren, Tucker, Savannah, John, and Caleb; two brothers, Kenneth Cook ( Mary) of Searcy and Carl Cook ( Frances) of Velvet Ridge; and one sister, Betty Feltrop ( Herman) of Searcy.

SEDONA, Ariz. — TJ Raney, age 65, passed away in Sedona, Arizona, on February 19, 2017. Born the only son of Dr. A. P. “Tom” Raney and Virginia Giardina Raney in Paris, Arkansas, on March 3, 1951. TJ graduated from Russellvil­le High School, and went on to graduate from Arkansas Tech University in Russellvil­le with a degree in foreign languages. Besides English, he was fluent in Spanish, German, French and Italian. TJ was an antique car enthusiast and enjoyed being at car shows. He loved to show off his 1954 Chevy he bought with his yard mowing money in his early teen years. He was also an entreprene­ur who owned many successful businesses in Little Rock, Arkansas including a limousine service and a thriving estate

sale and liquidatio­n business. TJ was an animal lover and he especially cherished dogs he kept over the years.

––––– – –––– HIGH POINT, N. C. — Mr Don A. Henderson, A. K. A. Daris A Henderson died, February 16, 2017 at Westcheste­r Manor, High Point. Don was born July 16, 1921 to Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Talmadge Henderson in Patmos, Ark. A graduate of Patmos High School and Strayer College ( now Strayer University) in Washington D. C. He spent 3 ½ years in the Army during WWII and was discharged as a Technical Seargent.

After graduating from College he worked for several years as Treasurer and assistant Director of the Wood Office Furniture Institute, a Trade Associatio­n in Washington DC. In 1963 he became affiliated with the Myrtle Desk Company in High Point, N. C. where served as Chief Financial Officer and credit Manager until his retirement in 1985. After retiring he volunteere­d for United Way and served on several Chamber of Commerce Committees. He was a former member of the String and Splinter Club, The Administra­tive Management Society and The National Society of Accountant­s. He was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Lou Etta Jackson; one brother Carl Henderson. Survivors include one brother, Dallas G. Henderson ( Betty M) of Clinton, Ark.; four nieces and six nephews.
