Mutt Strutt to benefit scholarship fund and animal rescues
MORRILTON — Junior Main Street, the student-led community service arm of Main Street Morrilton, is planning the Main Street Mutt Strutt, a 1-mile walk-n-wag in the historic downtown district of Morrilton. Pet contests and prizes will be given for special categories of Wonder Dog (coolest trick), Ruff & Runner (dog and owner matching costumes), Best in Show (best dressed pet) and Pound for Pound (donates most pounds of pet food). Additionally, participants will receive a chance to win at Barkin’ Bingo, a poker-runstyle group bingo game.
Registration is $25 by March 30 and includes a T-shirt). Race-day registration is $30 and includes a T-shirt while supplies last. Sizes are not guaranteed. Additional categories and bandanas are available for $5 each. Participants are encouraged to bring bags or cans of pet food to donate to local dog shelters.
For those who can’t make it to the event but still want to show their support, the Cat Nap Club registration is an option. For $30, supporters can sleep in on Saturday morning, receive a T-shirt in the mail and still help out the cause. Sponsorship opportunities from $50 to $500 are available and will include recognition in event publicity and banners, and a T-shirt.
