Nominations sought for Conway Arts Awards
CONWAY — The Conway Alliance for the Arts is still seeking nominations for the fourth annual Conway Arts Awards.
The awards, recognizing contributions to the arts in Conway, will be given for Outstanding Arts Educator, Outstanding Student Achievement, Outstanding Individual Arts Achievement, the Rollin R. Potter Outstanding Arts Patron and a special Mayor’s Award for Community Advocate for the Arts.
Members of the public are encouraged to submit nominations for any of these awards online at www.artsinconway.org/awards. Forms may also be picked up at the Conway Chamber of Commerce, the Faulkner County Library and the Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall Box Office at the University of Central Arkansas. The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday. Nominees need not live in Conway as long as they have an impact on the arts in Conway.
The awards ceremony will be at 7:30 p.m. April 13 in the Trieschmann Fine Arts Building at Hendrix College. Also during the ceremony, the CAFTA Board of Directors will recognize an individual with an award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts. The ceremony, free and open to the public, will include performances by local artists and will be followed by a reception.
The Conway Alliance for the Arts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, supports and promotes artistic endeavors in Conway and central Arkansas. Its flagship projects are Conway ArtsFest and the Conway Arts Awards.
