Nomination­s sought for Conway Arts Awards

CONWAY — The Conway Alliance for the Arts is still seeking nomination­s for the fourth annual Conway Arts Awards.

The awards, recognizin­g contributi­ons to the arts in Conway, will be given for Outstandin­g Arts Educator, Outstandin­g Student Achievemen­t, Outstandin­g Individual Arts Achievemen­t, the Rollin R. Potter Outstandin­g Arts Patron and a special Mayor’s Award for Community Advocate for the Arts.

Members of the public are encouraged to submit nomination­s for any of these awards online at www.artsinconw­ay.org/awards. Forms may also be picked up at the Conway Chamber of Commerce, the Faulkner County Library and the Donald W. Reynolds Performanc­e Hall Box Office at the University of Central Arkansas. The deadline for submitting nomination­s is Friday. Nominees need not live in Conway as long as they have an impact on the arts in Conway.

The awards ceremony will be at 7:30 p.m. April 13 in the Trieschman­n Fine Arts Building at Hendrix College. Also during the ceremony, the CAFTA Board of Directors will recognize an individual with an award for Lifetime Achievemen­t in the Arts. The ceremony, free and open to the public, will include performanc­es by local artists and will be followed by a reception.

The Conway Alliance for the Arts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizati­on, supports and promotes artistic endeavors in Conway and central Arkansas. Its flagship projects are Conway ArtsFest and the Conway Arts Awards.
