Stumbaugh wins 100 hurdles
Payton Stumbaugh started her comeback for the Arkansas Razorbacks with a victory in the 100-meter hurdles Saturday at the Spring Invitational at John McDonnell Field in Fayetteville.
Stumbaugh, a junior and four-time All-American from Springdale Har-Ber who redshirted during the indoor season because of a stress fracture, ran 13.21 seconds in her outdoor debut.
Other winners Saturday for the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville’s No. 3-ranked women’s team included sophomore Lexi Weeks in the pole vault (13 feet, 111/ inches), freshmen Kiara 4 Parker in the 100 (11.73), Carina Voljoen in the 800 (2:10.58) and Abby Gray in the 3,000 (9:38.05), and sophomore Sydney Brown in the 1,500 (4:24.46).
Arkansas sophomore Ashlee Moore, a transfer from Oregon, took third in the heptathlon with 4,406 points despite not finishing the 800.
Mat Clark, a former All-American at Northern Iowa who is now the strength and conditioning coach for Arkansas’ No. 3-ranked men’s team, won the decathlon with 7,522 points while competing for Trackwired Elite. Razorbacks junior Derek Jacobus took second in the decathlon with 7,437 points.
Travean Caldwell, a freshman at Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock, won the 400 hurdles in 52.13.
