MEET YOUR NEIGHBOR

- Katie Frizzell

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO LIVE IN MOUNTAIN VIEW?

When I was 11, my family took our second-ever summer vacation [and came] to Mountain View. While most kids got to go to Disney or the beach, our vacations were always a few nights and no more than a few hours away. I can still remember everything about my first trip to Mountain View. I fell in love with the place instantly, and I have always said ever since then, “I’m going to live here one day.”

WHAT MAKES THE MOUNTAIN VIEW COMMUNITY SPECIAL?

Mountain View is a very special place, and it’s unlike many in Arkansas. One thing that stands out is the friendliness of the people here. The love for music is prevalent like no other place I’ve been. There is also a strong sense of community throughout.

WHAT WOULD YOU CONSIDER TO BE MOUNTAIN VIEW’S HIDDEN GEM?

One of the most interesting and unique things about this area is Blanchard Springs Caverns. I have visited the caves multiple times throughout my adolescence and early adulthood. It is a place that I love to visit and I am sure I will never get tired of. It is a rare and beautiful place tucked away in the Ozarks that everyone should see at least once.

WHAT IS YOUR MAIN GOAL AS COUNTY EXTENSION AGENT?

Being an extension agent is one of the most rewarding jobs out there. I chose this profession for several reasons, but the main one is because I knew I wanted to do my part to help people and to make, not just Arkansas, but the world a better place for us to live. My main goal is to serve others and help my community become stronger in every aspect of life.
