Drillers top Travs

The Arkansas Travelers lost three of four to the Tulsa Drillers, falling 6-3 Thursday night at ONEOK Field in Tulsa.

Matt Beaty hit a three-run home run for the Drillers. Four players had two hits for Tulsa, including Tyler Holt, Kyle Garlick, Jose Miguel Fernandez and Stetson Allie.

Arkansas right-hander Lindsey Caughel (1-2) allowed 4 runs on 7 hits in 5 innings, striking out 5 and walking 1.

The Travs led 3-0 in the top of the first inning. Chuck Taylor recorded an RBI single and Ryan Casteel hit a two-run home run.

Tulsa cut the led to 3-1 in the bottom of the first and took a 4-3 lead in the second inning on Beaty’s three-run home run, his first of the season.

The Drillers added two runs in the eighth inning for a 6-3 lead. Garlick hit a two-run home run off Travs reliever Blake Perry. It was his fifth of the season.

Casteel went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI to lead the Travs offensivel­y.

Ivan Vieitez (1-1) earned the victory for Tulsa, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts in 5 innings.
