For more than two decades, Parkside Cycle in Hot Springs has been helping community members of all ages hop on bicycles to feel the freedom of the road.

Celebrating its 22nd anniversary, Parkside Cycle has long been a staple business in the Hot Springs area. Owners Bruce and Jann Hubbard encourage everyone to get on a bike because they believe cycling is a lifelong activity. Jann said the business provides bicycles for riders from 1 year old to over 80.

Along with the experience of the owners, the mechanics at the shop have more than 40 years of combined experience. Jann said cycling is in Bruce’s genes, so it’s no wonder that they’ve had the business for so long.

“You have to have a passion for cycling to be in the business,” she said. “Bruce started racing as a 14-year-old. It is in his blood.”

She added that it is Parkside Cycle’s duty to put its customers on the correct bicycle for their style of riding and to be there for their future needs.

“We fit you for the correct bike size. It’s not as easy as jumping on a bike when you were a kid,” she said. “Bikes are sized proportionally to your overall height, inseam and gender. Being fitted on the correct-size bike is important for your knee and back health.”

Along with providing customers a comfortable fit for their ride, Parkside Cycle offers choices in bike brands such as Trek, Felt and Salsa. The business carries Giro shoes and helmets, Camelbak hydration systems and a large assortment of nutritional products for the long road ahead.
