Residence treats community with respect, care
When it comes to caring for a loved one, trusting others’ abilities to provide quality care can be difficult. At Alcoa Pines Health & Rehab, that anxious feeling of leaving your loved one in the care of someone else can become a thing of the past.
Since 2005, the professional staff at Alcoa Pines Health & Rehab has treated its patients with the respect and positive attitude these seniors deserve. Admissions and marketing manager Vicky Shuffield said it is the facility’s goal to provide the best health care services and largest number of health care options to the residents of the community.
“It is our goal to provide the highest quality of health care services and the greatest variety of health care options to the residents of this community, which we serve,” she said. “These services reflect the ever-changing needs of our patients and their families. It is our goal to achieve the highest quality of life possible for our patients.” She added that she personally loves coming to work every day to help her patients.
“I have a big heart for the elderly, and I love seeing their smiling faces and hearing their stories,” she said. “Sometimes we are the only family they have. I have also met a lot of wonderful family members, and I appreciate the opportunity to be able to help these families with their precious loved ones.”
Alcoa Pines offers a wide range of services, from short-term rehabilitation for those who need just a little therapy to go back home, to long-term care, respite services and hospice care. The facility includes some private rooms and a private dining room. Each resident room has a flat-screen television and a private bathroom. The facility also offers 24-hour nursing care, daily activities, community outings, and places for family and friends to visit. The facility even offers assistance in applying for Medicaid.
Along with the friendly staff, Alcoa Pines has a therapy team, which offers physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, all with individual plans of care.
Shuffield said having the facility in the specific area it is in means a lot to her and to the staff at Alcoa Pines.
“This is a very tight-knit community and being able to serve in this community gives me great pleasure,” she said. “I love working with people that care about their community.”
