WALTER LEE DANIELS SR., 82, of Little Rock made his sweet transition in his home surrounded by his family on May 11, 2017. He was the first born of 5 children to Judge and Gussie Daniels on April 27, 1935. He was a faithful husband, deacon and business owner.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three siblings; and one daughter, Sandra Daniels of Little Rock. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 61 years, Everdean; 6 children; 13 grandchild­ren; 21 great-grandchild­ren; and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, two sisters, and his son Edward Lee Goodman Jr. Ed is survived by his loving wife, Lucy Goodman; and two daughters, Lisa Tew (Phillip), and Brenda Goodman (Charlie); grandchild­ren, Amanda Woodell (Cody), Brittney Heath (Will), Charly Thorn (Cody), Jessica Lawley, and Jaden; also five great-grandchild­ren.

Ed was a loving and hardworkin­g family man always willing to lend a helping hand. He never met a stranger and his friends were considered family. Ed will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

–––––❖––––– ALAN DALE HORNBECK, 55, went to be with the Lord after a long hard battle to brain cancer on May 14th, 2017, at his home, surrounded by family and friends. He was the son of Maeline and Gene Hornbeck of Little Rock. He’s a graduate of Catholic High School for Boys and has a bachelor’s degree, in Business Administra­tion, from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He was also a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He’s survived by his mother, father, and two daughters, Haley and Hannah Grace Hornbeck.

Dale was the most entertaini­ng and outgoing person to be around. He always knew how to put a smile on your face and his sense of humor, though sarcastic, would guarantee a laugh. He was happiest at the beach and he knew everything there was to know about electronic­s. Dale loved his two girls, and would do absolutely anything for them. Most of all, he would rather have his life celebrated than mourned.

A visitation will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home on Wednesday May 17th, 2017 from 5-6:30 p.m. with a rosary to follow. The funeral service will be Thursday May 18th, 2017 at Christ The King Catholic Church at 1 p.m. A burial service will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

–––––❖––––– MERRY JEAN McCARTY, 91 of Little Rock, Ark. (formerly of Fayettevil­le and Helena), passed away May 14, 2017. She was born December 9, 1925 in Kensett, Ark., the daughter of Rawley E. and Inez Bryant Brines.

She is survived by four children; Becky Dole and Holly Hiryak of Little Rock, Ark., Jack McCarty of Fayettevil­le, Ark., Tim McCarty of Redfield, Ark., 11 grandchild­ren, and six great-grandchild­ren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Robert “Eddie” Elliott McCarty Sr., son; Robert “Robin” Elliott McCarty Jr. Her two brothers and a sister preceded her as well.

Merry Jean grew up in Kensett and Helena, Ark. and attended Hendrix College in Conway. She married a hometown third generation jeweler in Helena and when time allowed, in between raising five rambunctio­us children, she helped manage Elliott’s Jewelry Store.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m., Friday May 19, 2017 at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayettevil­le with Father Jason Tyler officiatin­g. –––––❖––––– LEE COOPER McCLENNEY, 71, of Little Rock passed away Friday, May 12, 2017. Lee was born in Lake Village, Arkansas on December 24, 1945. Lee served in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Lee is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Mary (Cooper) McClenney and sisters, Betty (McClenney) Hoffman and Lisa (McClenney) Bradley. He is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Nina (Estep) McClenney; three daughters: Rebel McClenney, Kelley McClenney both of Little Rock; and Leigh McClenney-Tighe and son-n-law Pauly Tighe; one granddaugh­ter, Eveleen Tighe all of La Jolla, California and one sister: Lynda (McClenney) Latham.

–––––❖––––– BLAKE OLEN MILLER, 23 of Maumelle passed away May 12, 2017. He was born in Little Rock on March 7, 1994 to Diane Marie Miller and Lawrence Gary Miller.

Blake was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved his family, all animals, fishing, the outdoors, golf, the Chicago Bears and cooking holiday meals for his family. He will be remembered for his kind heart, sweet soul, his infectious smile & laugh, and his willingnes­s to do anything for anybody. He had an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from ITT Tech. He was a member of the National Technical Honor Society.

Blake was preceded in death by his mother. Blake is survived by his father; siblings, Susan Miller of Mobile, Alabama, Diana (Earl) Weissert of Franklin, Tennessee, and Steve (Stephanie) Miller of Little Rock; as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

–––––❖––––– PATRICIA ANN WARD MILLS of North Little Rock died on Mother’s Day, May 14, 2017. She was born in Ft. Smith, Arkansas on July 15, 1933. She was predecease­d by her parents, Thomas M. and Kathleen Myers Ward; and daughter, Debbie Mills Beaver and survived by her son, John Charles Mills; grandsons, Aaron Mills and Josh Davis; sisters, Kay Goodman of Ft. Smith and Lora Golebiewsk­i of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; and her brother, John Ward of North Little Rock.

She was a faithful member of Park Hill Baptist Church. She was a strong Christian, she cared for home bound and nursing home residents regularly until her health failed, after which she was visited faithfully by members of Park Hill Baptist Church, which she appreciate­d. –––––❖––––– MARY MURRELL O’BRIEN was born January 14, 1988 on a snowy day in Little Rock, Arkansas. She lost her beloved mother, Margie, when she was only 13 years old. Mary and Margie are rejoicing together, reunited in heaven on May 13, 2017.

Mary gave her family and friends so much joy during her time with us. She was energetic, caring, spunky and creative. Her determinat­ion was exemplifie­d by the shelf she sawed, hammered, and glued till it spelled Love.

Her infectious smile lit up every room. A friend aptly described her as a “light”. Mary loved animals, birthdays, cooking and engulfing protein with her Dad at Outback. She was a fighter in her appetite for life. Multiple recent health issues including an apparent blood clot could not dim her sparkle.

Mary attended Christ the King Elementary School, the Darlington School in Rome, Georgia, and Troy University. She is survived by her father, Joe O’Brien of Little Rock; her sister, Evie O’Brien Pearson (Carl) of Sherwood; her brother, D.J. O’Brien (Meg) of Greensboro, N.C.; two nieces, a nephew and many cousins, Aunts and Uncles whom she loved dearly. She adored her constant companion and beloved Chihuahua mix, Kennedi.

A Vigil - Visitation will be held this evening, Wednesday, May 17 at 7:30 p.m. and a Celebratio­n of Life on Thursday, May 18 at 10 a.m., both at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4000 Rodney Parham Road, Little Rock. –––––❖––––– God called back his angel, ASILEE “LEE” ROGERS, 99, of North Little Rock, to be with her dear husband, Doyle Rogers on May 12, 2017. Born to Elijah and Zora May Talley in El Paso, Arkansas. Doyle and Lee were married 59 years.

Lee survived the loss of her sister, Louise Smith; brother, Bill Hogue; and her daughter, Faye Provence; and son-in-laws: John Provence and Robert Young. She is survived by her daughter, Hellen Young; five grandchild­ren and their spouses; nine great-grandchild­ren; and four great-great grandchild­ren.

Lee was a homemaker, supervisor of the NLR senior citizen flea market for 20 years, and was active in the campaign of several NLR government officials. Lee was also a lifetime member of the Assembly of God Church.
