The North Little Rock Planning Commission voted 3-2 Tuesday to allow the Gray Supply Company to construct a warehouse at its scrap metal processing plant in the Missouri Pacific Lines’ shop area, but the final decision was postponed on a technicality. After almost an hour of argument between Company representative and residents of the area who opposed the new construction, Commission members Glenn L. Jermstad, Howard Eichenbaum and George Tyler voted in favor of the company and Dan L. Winn and George Henley voted against. However, Commission regulations require a twothirds majority in favor of non-conforming use applications such as Gray Supply’s proposal that’s why the decision had to be postponed.

The Pulaski County prosecuting attorney’s office has cleared police in Little Rock and North Little Rock in two separate shooting deaths. In recent letters to the police departments, the prosecuting attorney’s office wrote that after reviewing the Feb. 24 death of Nathan Rideout in North Little Rock and the Dec. 6 death of DeAndre Glenn in Little Rock, officers won’t face charges. After each of the killings, the officers who fired at Rideout and Glenn were suspended with pay, which is standard procedure, and each department conducted an investigation. The investigative files were turned over to the prosecuting attorney’s office, which examined whether the officers had acted criminally in the shootings.
