Arkansas Realtors travel to D.C. to support homeownership
People generally think of Realtors as the local real estate professionals who put their expertise to work helping clients buy and sell homes.
But the core of what Realtors do is serve their communities, helping people achieve the dream of homeownership and supporting the institutions that make Arkansas a great place to live.
That mission was front and center this week as dozens of Realtors from Arkansas headed to Washington, D.C., for the National Association of Realtors’ Legislative Meetings and Trade Expo, held May 15-20.
Members of the Arkansas Realtors Association used the week to sharpen their skills and stay current on the legislative and regulatory issues facing their clients. But most importantly, to show their support for the policies that make homeownership possible for millions of Americans, Realtors met with members of Congress and leaders inside the administration.
Whether it’s reminding legislators to make flood insurance a priority or defending important tax policies such as the mortgage-interest deduction, the nation’s Realtors — including 7,717 Realtors right here in Arkansas — are protecting the interests of homeowners everywhere. Homeownership matters, and Realtors are doing their part to keep the dream alive.
House to House is distributed by the Arkansas Realtors Association. For more information about homeownership in Arkansas, visit www.ArkansasRealtors.com.
