MARY ABIGAIL ROOT STEPHEN ROLLAND CURRY

The Barn at Richwoods in Arkadelphi­a was the setting at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 26, for the wedding of Mary Abigail Root and Stephen Rolland Curry. The Rev. Jimmy Darby of First Baptist Church, Arkadelphi­a, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Deborah and Jeff Root and the granddaugh­ter of Lucile and the late Robert Holley and Mary and Paul Root, all of Arkadelphi­a.

Holly and Brian Curry of Little Rock are the parents of the bridegroom. He is the grandson of the late Shirley and Edward Held and the late Carolyn and Allan Curry.

Vows were exchanged outside at an altar with arrangemen­ts of gladioli, larkspur, bells of Ireland and dendrobium orchids on each side. Music was by vocalists Emily Weeden, Kayla Walker and Tyler Davis accompanie­d by Ernie Elbert.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown with an Alencon lace bodice and satin and net skirt with an ivory lace jacket. She carried a clutch bouquet of hydrangeas, roses and stock.

Honor attendants were Stephanie Westberg and Caroline Poole Winkler, both of Arkadelphi­a. Bridesmaid­s were Mallory Bell Bagwell of Haskell; Dana Hamilton of Arkadelphi­a; Kayla Walker of North Little Rock; Lauren Hensarling of Bossier City, La.; Emma Riley of Fort Smith; Kimberley Attaway of Austin, Texas; and Hannah Fender of Maumelle. They alternated navy blue and moss green knee-length sleeveless dresses with organza overlays and carried clusters of baby’s breath and tree fern.

Flower girl and ring bearer were Kayla Darby and Hayden Darby of Arkadelphi­a.

Best man was Jonathan Curry of Little Rock, brother of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were David Winkler and Tyler Rosenthal, both of Arkadelphi­a; Tyler Davis of Benton; Benjamin Curry and David Curry, brothers of the bridegroom, Phillip Guinee, Jake Coffman and Jalin Wesley, all of Little Rock. Seating guests were Coleson Lechner of Tyler, Texas; Clint Pumphrey and Scott Pumphrey, both of Logan, Utah; Kyle Osmon of Rogers and Evan Wheatley of Camden.

A reception was also held at The Barn at Richwoods. Table centerpiec­es included lanterns, candles on wood blocks and milk bottles holding baby’s breath.

The bride graduated summa cum laude in May with a bachelor’s degree in theater and speech communicat­ions from Ouachita Baptist University, where she was named Outstandin­g Senior Woman, homecoming queen and member of Kappa Delta Pi Internatio­nal Honor Society and Alpa Psi Omega National Theatre Honor Society. In August she will be a theater and oral communicat­ion teacher at Benton High School.

The bridegroom graduated cum laude from OBU with a bachelor’s degree in music education. He was concert choir student conductor, Ouachita Singers president, a Tiger Tunes host and member of Kappa Delta Pi. He is an admissions counselor at OBU and in August will be associate vocal director at Little Rock Christian Academy.

The couple will live in Bryant after a wedding trip to Branson.
