Variety of artists featured in summer exhibits
HOT SPRINGS — The Justus Fine Art Gallery, 827A Central Ave., will feature a series of group exhibitions over the summer months. The June exhibit, Summer Series I, will include work by Kristin DeGeorge, Matthew Hasty, Dolores Justus, Jennifer Libby Fay, Gerri Much, Tony Saladino, Dan Thornhill and others. The exhibit will be on display through June 30.
Kristin DeGeorge combines delicate etched lines with blocks of color and other media in her monoprints. Dividing her time between France and the U.S., DeGeorge brings an inviting spareness to her work.
Matthew Hasty’s Southern landscapes have garnered the Memphis artist numerous public and private collectors, along with recognition as “Memphis’ premier landscape artist,” according to Delta Magazine. Hasty’s painting The Delta II combines attention to detail and atmosphere in this night scene.
Blurring the line between abstraction and representation, Dolores Justus’ work offers what is essential, while maintaining a fresh approach to her subject matter.
Painting with dye on fabric, Jennifer Libby Fay’s work utilizes forms from nature, along with strokes of color, texture and line.
Gerri Much’s color-rich abstract paintings employ fluid brushwork to create a sense of movement in her work.
Tony Saladino’s lyrical multilayered abstracts reflect the artist’s mastery of form and movement. His accomplishments have earned the Texas artist inclusion in notable public and private collections, along with features in many
publications, including The New York Times, Southwest Art Magazine, The
Artist’s Magazine and others.
Dan Thornhill brings a playful approach to his multimedia abstract paintings by uniting various marks, strokes and forms in his work.
Owned by artist Dolores Justus, the Justus Fine Art Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday or by appointment. For more information, call (501) 321-2335 or visit justusfineart.com.
