Just more NFL antics
I am greatly nonplussed as to why people are hysterically bumping into one another, screaming that the “sky is falling.” Obviously, I am missing something regarding an existential threat.
It somehow addresses the essence of antics and buffoonery demonstrated by NFL players in their quest to draw attention to themselves. Some merely turn flips while crossing the goal line. Others engage in inanity involving choreographed routines of hand and body movements mirrored by a teammate following a score or whatever. The networks are inordinately ecstatic to complicitly promote this tomfoolery by ensuring that it’s agonizingly well-viewed by the TV audience. This has recently been expanded to include antics veiled as politics. Of course, I allude to the protest against our egregiously inequitable nation. Unfortunately, we make the Middle East, Somalia, etc., etc. (you know, those regional bastions of civil, female and religious rights), look like paradise on earth.
Who among you actually cares if Kaepernick (it should be spelled Caper Nick) sprawls out on the bench during the national anthem? He’s already in La La Land. I entreat you, just deny him the spotlight! Why make a mountain out of a trivial molehill? If only we deprive Kaepernick of the attention and notoriety on which he thrives, obscurity will be the misfortune of his destiny. Conversely, if we cater to his insatiable desire, he could become the first and sole proprietor of the NFL. Who knows what his motives and ambitions are? BOB HARRIS
