UALR wins own tournament

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s men’s team won the Little Rock Invitation­al at Chenal Country Club on Tuesday.

The Trojans finished with an 879 in the 54-hole event, beating Illinois State by nine strokes. Arkansas State finished tied for sixth at 899. Central Arkansas finished ninth with a 914.

Individual­ly, the Trojans were led by Aaron Ramos who finished third overall with a 213. Daniel Durisic finished tied for seventh with a 218. Arkansas State was led by Tanner Napier, who finished tied for fourth with a 216. Central Arkansas was led by Rodrigo Rivas, who finished with a 227.

Harding men finish third in Oklahoma Harding University’s men’s team finished third at the Missouri State Men’s Fall Invitation­al at Monkey Island, Okla.

The Bisons shot a 898 finishing behind Central Oklahoma (874) and Missouri-St. Louis (891). The University of Arkansas-Monticello finished tied for eighth with a 928 and Southern Arkansas University finished tied for 14 with 936.

Individual­ly, Harding’s Mason Banger won the title with a 214. Arkansas-Monticello’s Joe Lemieux and Southern Arkansas’ Kade Johnson finished tied for 15th with a 227.

Harding women win in Hot Springs Harding University’s women’s team won the Henderson State University Fall Invitation­al at the Hot Springs Country Club.

Harding finished with a 972, edging Texas-Tyler by two strokes. Henderson State was third at 982, Southern Arkansas University was fourth at 984 while Arkansas-Monticello was fifth at 996.

Individual­ly, Southern Arkansas’ Helle Leed won with a 229. Harding’s Brooklyn Terry was third at 238 and Henderson State’s Christian Barrett was fourth at 240. Harding’s Delaney Bowles finished tied for fifth at 243. Arkansas-Monticello’s Belle Tan finished tied for eighth at 244.

UAFS’ Eckes wins in playoff

Chris Eckes of the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith defeated Midwestern State’s Clayton Keck in a two-hole playoff to win The Territory Classic in Duncan, Okla.

Eckes shot a 71 in the first round and a 76 in the second round while Keck shot a 72 and 75 in the two rounds.

The Lions finished with a 606 to tie for third with Midwestern State. Oklahoma Christian won with a 602 and Newman (Kan.) finished with a 603.

UCA’s Moore earns Southland honor

Alex Moore of the University of Central Arkansas was named women’s offensive player of the week by the Southland Conference on Tuesday.

Moore scored the game-winning goal in the 54th minute in a 2-0 victory over Nicholls State. She also assisted on the game-winning goal in a victory over Southeaste­rn Louisiana.

UCA’s Brodacki honored by MVC

The University of Central Arkansas’ Niklas Brodacki was named offensive player of the week by the Missouri Valley Conference on Tuesday.

Brodacki scored two goals in a 3-2 victory over Valparaiso. Harding’s Ramos named player of the week Harding University’s Christian Ramos was named defensive player of the week by the Great American Conference on Tuesday.

Ramos converted two penalty kicks to help the Bisons beat Lindenwood (Mo.) 4-2.

Lyon women fall to Williams Baptist

Lyon College’s women’s team lost 2-1 to Williams Baptist on Tuesday in Batesville.

Maria Ramirez scored twice for Williams Baptist (5-10-1, 4-6-1 American Midwest Conference). Joyce Barbosa scored from the right side of the penalty box for Lyon (5-9-1, 5-6).

Lyon men lose to Williams Baptist Giovanni Souza put a header into the net in with 30 seconds left in double overtime to lift Williams Baptist to a 1-0 victory over Lyon College in Batesville.

Williams Baptist improves to 7-9-1 and 5-5 in the American Midwest Conference, while Lyon falls to 6-6-2 overall and 5-4-1 in conference play.

VOLLEYBALL

UAFS sweeps East Central

The University of Arkansas-Fort Smith defeated East Central (Okla.) 25-14, 25-18, 25-17 on Tuesday night in Ada, Okla. The Lady Lions (19-6) were led by Anna Demmer, who had 14 kills. Susannah Kelley had 34 assists.
