An 18- year- old girl has told the police that she was forced into a car in the 900 block of West Capitol Avenue about 12: 30 a. m. Wednesday and then driven to an isolated area and raped and beaten. The girl told officers that two men gave her a ride from a club to an apartment house where she had left her purse and keys. Later, she was walking by a restaurant when a blue car drove out of the driveway and honked at her, she said, and she thought she knew the two men in the car. She walked over to talk to them, she said, and when she got close to the car she realized they were strangers but that the men forced her into the car and drove away and later attacked her.

A 33- year- old North Little Rock murder suspect should have stopped talking to police if he wanted to invoke his constitutional rights, a Pulaski County circuit judge ruled Friday. Charged with first- degree murder, James Earl “Jimmy Jam” Jones is accused of gunning down Marcus Hickman outside a Vine Street home in March in North Little Rock. Detective Dane Pedersen testified Friday that at least five witnesses saw Jones arguing with Hickman and then saw him fleeing after gunshots were heard. The detective testified he ended a March 24 interview with Jones when the suspect said he wanted a lawyer, which is a constitutional right.
