Tennessee tipoff

Arkansas’ SEC opener will tip off at noon Dec. 30 in Walton Arena, according to the Razorbacks’ updated schedule.

When the SEC schedule was announced earlier this year, the tipoff time was to be determined depending on whether the Razorbacks and Vols were playing in football bowl games.

That became a moot point as both teams went 4-8 and didn’t qualify for a bowl.

Tennessee was picked to finish 13th in the SEC in a preseason media poll, but the Vols are 7-1 after beating Lipscomb 81-71 on Saturday and are ranked No. 24 in The Associated Press poll.
