RUSSE QUINLAN ALLEN, 61, of Little Rock, Ark., passed away April 16, 2018. He was born August 6, 1956 to his parents Willard Allen and Joyce Bilyeu Allen. He was a heavy machine operator and member of Mission by the Creek Baptist Church. –––––❖––––– MARY KAY BURNETT EAST, “Moomie” as she was known to close friends and family, died on Thursday, April 12, 2018. She left this earth with her large family at her side. She was born on May 3, 1942 in Memphis, Tennessee to

Johnie and Mary Burnett. Mary Kay lived in Joiner, Ark., during her early childhood, where her father was a coach and superinten­dent of schools, and moved to Little Rock, Ark., with her family when she was four.

She grew up in the Heights neighborho­od in Little Rock, attended Hall High School and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where she was a cheerleade­r and beauty queen. Mary Kay is survived by her husband James C. East and her siblings, older sister Suzanne McGee, and older brother, John Len Burnett.

Mary Kay was previously married to George Lorenz Jr. They had two children, Kimberly Smith and Jennifer Miller. In 1982 she married James C. East, the principle shareholde­r and Chairman of the Board of Pulaski Bank and Trust Company. It was at this time of her life she faced her greatest challenge while combining two families with six children, and loving them each and every one as her own.

Mary Kay was a wonderfull­y warm and fun loving person. She had only good things to say about others and was much loved in return. She loved tennis and snow skiing, and she and Jim enjoyed many days on the slopes in Aspen, Colorado. Mary Kay especially enjoyed traveling, often taking close friends and family. She was a member of the Little Rock Country Club.

Mary Kay was a long time member of the Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church where she belonged to the PHUM Circle of Hope and volunteere­d in the food program.

In addition to her brother, sister and husband, Mary Kay is survived by four children, Jennifer Miller, Hunter East, Letitia East and Jack Collier East, and 14 grandchild­ren, Hunter Smith, Kaitlyn Smith, Brooke Miller, Kyle Miller, Colby Miller, Evan East, Hannah East, John Collier East, Justin Ryles, Lily Ryles, Avery Ryles, Silas East, Ginger East and Atticus East. Their son Lindsey East died in 2011, and their daughter Kimberly Smith died in 2017. Eight of her grandchild­ren are grandsons and will serve as honorary pallbearer­s.

A memorial service will be held at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow. 2018. Charles was born on September 3,

1947, to late

Buford and Ann Humphrey. He was a devoted Christian who served the Lord, a loving husband, and caring father not only to his own children but the community as well. Charles worked for the City of Little Rock in Parks & Recreation for 38 years. When he retired in December 2011, from the city, Mayor Mark Stodola declared January 5, as Charles B. Humphrey Day with the City of Little Rock and City Manager Bruce Moore named Jim Dailey Fitness and Aquatic Center gymnasium court, Charles B. Humphrey Court where he worked as the Fitness Director for 20 years. He was, also, a licensed massage therapist. Due to his love for recreation, he mastered and played many sports for fun. Charles coached basketball, volleyball, and track. He played basketball as a shooting guard on championsh­ip teams at Horace Mann High School in Little Rock, Arkansas and Arkansas Agricultur­al, Mechanical, and Normal College in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He was an avid Pickleball player where he would travel all over the United States to play. Volleyball was one sport he officiated. He officiated volleyball games for high school and colleges. He won several volleyball Men and Women Regional Championsh­ips. He was selected as the top AIC Volleyball Official for several years and received an Outstandin­g Director Award for Exemplific­ation of a Model Program along with several other accomplish­ments. Charles was a member of Shamrock Lodge #25, PHA and Mohammed Temple #34, Motor Patrol Unit of Little Rock, Arkansas.

Living on to remember and cherish his memories of a life well lived are his wife, Sheila Humphrey; two sons, Kyle Humphrey, and Chad Humphrey; two daughters, Karryne Gray (Grian) and Shelley Humphrey. He has one very special granddaugh­ter Sophia Grace who stole his heart and called him Pawpaw. His brothers, James Humphrey (Ollie), Richard Humphrey, and Cody Humphrey. His sisters, Freddie Anderson, JoAnn Curry, Betty Humphrey, Bobbie Humphrey (Horace), and Diedra Jackson (Ronnie). He is preceded in death by his sisters, Patsy Collins and Chana Humphrey; and his parents.

The Celebratio­n of His Life will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church Highland Park located at 1701 S. Pine Street, Little Rock, Ark. Burial will be at Haven-Rest Cemetery, 7102 W. 12th Street, Little Rock, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Gracie Gregory. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Earline Henson Gregory of the home; one son, Terry Gregory (Kimberly) of Little Rock; one daughter, Tammy Gregory Carter of Austin, Texas; six grandchild­ren, Brandon Gregory, Porter Gregory, Trevor Gregory, Carolyn Brown, Sarah Catherine Brown and Will Brown; and a host of other relatives and friends.

HOT SPRINGS — Vicki D. Mitchell Fletcher, 64, of Hot Springs, passed away on April

14, 2018. She was born November 24, 1953 in Fort Smith to the late William

R. and Margaret “Marge” Mitchell. Vicki was a loving mother, grandmothe­r, aunt, teacher, and friend.

She is predecease­d by her parents and grandmothe­r, Froy Noe. Vicki is survived by two daughters, Michell Fletcher and Mariellen Fletcher, sister, Paige Rix, grandson, Daniel Beavers, niece, Mimi Bell, nephew, Will Rix, and three great-nephews, Austin Guthrie, Brennan Dorrell

and Kayden Bell.

Vicki was a devoted Christian and attended St. James United Methodist Church. She graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1972 and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Arkansas. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. For 41 years Vicki taught in the Little Rock School District and retired from Henderson Middle School as an 8th grade Science teacher. Vicki enjoyed the lake and attending Oaklawn.

Searcy County.

1940 in Memphis Tennessee to

Curtis L. and Evelyn Cooper, she grew up in Arkansas. Educated in California, and residing in several States in between, Pat Winter was a published author. Included in her works are novels; Driver, River of Destiny (Woman called Arkansas), The Madoc Saga (Madoc and Madoc’s Hundred), and Jaguar King. Pat also published short stories; Inside Mother, Polimander’s Man-Thing, and sold the story for the ABC TV movie, “Someone I Touched” starring Cloris Leachman. The history of French Colonial life on the Mississipp­i streamed through Pat Winter’s life, work, and dreams.

Surviving Pat are: daughter and son-in-law Kimberly A. Statzer (DeGraw) and Mark Statzer, son and daughter-in-law, Donald C. DeGraw and Emilia D. DeGraw (Diaz Rojas), sister, Barbara E. Cooper, granddaugh­ter and grandson-inlaw, Sara A. Stone (Miranda) and Jason W. Stone, granddaugh­ter, Elizabeth A. Statzer, grandson and granddaugh­ter-in-law, Alexis Diaz Rojas and Isabelle Diaz Rojas (Niedermier) who are expecting their firstborn, and grandsons, Israel DeGraw and Nicolas DeGraw, great-granddaugh­ter, Amber R. Stone, and great-grandson, Joshua J. Stone.
