Deacon CARL EDWARD DAUGHERTY was born May 19, 1949. He departed this life on May 3, 2018 at the VA Hospital. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife; Verlean Daugherty, 12 children, seven brothers, one sister and a host of grandchild­ren, great-grandchild­ren relatives and friends. 9, 1922 in Imboden, Arkansas, to the late

Paul Alexander and Eleanor M.

Cude Starling.

Lewis graduated from Sloan

Hendrix Academy in 1940 in Imboden, Arkansas. He was a member of the Civitan Club for many decades holding many offices with more than 40 years of perfect attendance, was very active with the Special Olympics, was an Elder of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ in Little Rock for 42 years and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps having served both in WWII and the Korean War.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Estelle Starling,m and brother, Homer Starling. Lewis is survived by his sons, Danny L. Starling of Flippin, Arkansas, Jimmie W. Starling of Tyler, Texas, and Roger L. Starling of Little Rock, Arkansas; five grandchild­ren, Charles Knight, Kimberly, Jason, Christophe­r and Bradley Starling and seven great-grandchild­ren; sisterin-law, Velma Starling of Little

Rock, Arkansas; nephew, Stanley Starling of Little Rock, Arkansas, and niece, Susan Starling of Dallas, Texas.

Funeral services with Mr. Nick Hamilton and Mr. Chuck Monan officiatin­g will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, 10900 North Rodney Parham, Little Rock, Ark. 72212, Little Rock, Arkansas, with burial to follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.
