Abducted, drugged, man tells LR police

-

A 38-year-old man told police Monday that he was forced last week to travel to a Little Rock apartment, where he was drugged and robbed at gunpoint.

The man said he had driven to 65th Shop & Stop, 6402 Butler Road, around 9 p.m. Friday to buy cigarettes, according to a report from the city’s Police Department.

As the Mabelvale resident got out of his vehicle, a stranger with a handgun approached him, he said.

The assailant placed a black nylon bag with a drawstring over the 38-year-old’s head, ordered him into a vehicle and threatened to kill him if he did not comply, the report states.

Police say the two then traveled to Terra Vista Apartments at 4811 Terra Vista Circle. When they entered an apartment, the robber reportedly ordered the man to drink a bottle of water.

The 38-year-old “started to hallucinate and began to lose his memory shortly thereafter,” he told officers.

Authorities said the abductor was able to take $2,000 that the man had hidden in a sock.

The man eventually escaped and tried to get help by knocking on a nearby door but was eventually arrested, he told police. The report states that he was taken to the Pulaski County jail Friday on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

According to the man, he went to a Jacksonville hospital after his release from jail, and a toxicology report showed he had Ecstasy in his blood, which he described as a “date rape drug.” Police noted he did not have the medical records Monday while reporting the crime.

The man told officers that he waited to alert them because he had drugs in his system and was “unable to collect himself” until Monday.
