Voyeurism suspect faced earlier case
A man arrested Tuesday on a video-voyeurism charge was serving a suspended sentence from a separate case in which he was accused of filming a boy in a school bathroom, authorities said.
Last month, a man told Fort Smith police that he was showering at the Marvin Altman Fitness Center when he noticed a small portion of a cellphone above the divider from the neighboring stall. The phone appeared twice above the wall and once below the wall before disappearing, according to the police report.
Officers wrote that the victim finished showering and then waited to confront the suspect, later identified as 36-year-old Kennard Lombard, when he exited the neighboring stall.
The victim told police that Lombard initially said he was taking pictures of himself for his boyfriend but later admitted to taking pictures of the other man.
Lombard was booked at 10 a.m. Tuesday into the Sebastian County jail. He was released later that day on $3,500 bond, jail officials said.
According to the police report, the Fort Smith resident was accused of videotaping a boy at Van Buren High School, where he worked as an aide, in October. Police said Lombard told investigators in that case that he slid a cellphone through the opening of a bathroom stall.
Court records show he was originally charged with video voyeurism in that case. In May, he received a oneyear suspended sentence after being convicted of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor.
