March 10, 1934 in Cato, Arkansas to the late

Floyd and Tommie Brannon Swayze. Louise was a member of Life Tabernacle Church in Jacksonvil­le. She enjoyed her flower gardens and gospel music, but found her greatest happiness in her Lord and her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband of forty-one years, Raymond Barnhart; son, Waymond Barnhart; siblings, Bob and Gilbert Swayze, Frank and Roy Blackwell, Lizzy Box, Lula Mae Copeland, Pearl Sanders; and great grandchild, Bentley Lister. Survivors include her children, Patricia (Rick) Allen of Sherwood, Wanda (Marvin) Holloman of Jacksonvil­le, and Raymond Barnhart of Jacksonvil­le. Other survivors include seventeen grandchild­ren; thirty-three great grandchild­ren; one greatgreat grandchild; several nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends.

Katie was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas on

March 19, 1922, the daughter of Ernest Henry and Nellie

Haag. She retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District, after 35 years of service. Katie was a life-long member of Oak Forest United Methodist Church. As a member of the Internatio­nal Porcelain Art Teachers Associatio­n. Katie was well known for her artistic abilities and masterfull­y created pieces of exquisite china.

Katie was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings and her husband, Roy Edward Jackson. She is survived by her daughter, Phillis Jackson Lavender (Mickey) of Little Rock, grandson, Kristopher Ryan Lavender (Kristin) of Little Rock, granddaugh­ter, Kristin Lavender Gray (Jesse) of Fayettevil­le, and seven beloved great-grandchild­ren.

KASI LYNN JONES, age 39, of Little Rock, formerly of Lafayette, Indiana went to be with her earthly and heavenly Fathers on July 6,

2018. She fought a hard two-year battle with cancer with beauty, courage and positivity. She was born in El

Dorado, Arkansas and raised in Magnolia, Arkansas. She completed her undergradu­ate and graduate degrees at the University of Central Arkansas and went on to become the Director of Orientatio­n Programs at Purdue University, a career of a lifetime. Kasi lived life to the fullest every day and was a beam of light everywhere she went. She greeted everyone with a huge smile with “Hey Y’all!” and never met a stranger. Her passion was motivating and encouragin­g college students to succeed in school, leadership and life. In her spare time, she enjoyed giving back to the community through volunteer involvemen­t in numerous organizati­ons.

She is preceded in death by her father, Harrison Stewart Jones. Kasi is survived by her mother, Becky Aycock Jones; brothers, Kirk Jones and Derek Jones; sister, Brennan Rivera-Jones; sisters-in-law, Amy Jones and Rosie Rivera-Jones; niece, Georgia; nephew Gunner and many other family members and friends.

Oneta is survived by two sons; Gail (Caryol) Russell and Larry (Glyneva) Russell, four grandchild­ren; Robby Russell, and Lisa (Jeff) Menard; Kevin (Debbie) Russell, Alicia (Chris) Krou, and four great-grandchild­ren, (Kaitlyn, Olivia, Chad and Tyler); one great-great-granddaugh­ter, Saphira; eight step-great-grandchild­ren; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family that she loved, and they loved her in return.

Oneta was a loving, attentive and devoted Christian, wife, mother and grandmothe­r, and entirely committed to God and her family. As a working and stay-at-home mom, (she grew up picking cotton, gardening, canning and shelling tons of purple hull peas.) She kept busy raising her two boys, attending church, grandkids’ functions, and making perfect Sunday dinners. She gave her time and love to her husband, children, grandchild­ren, and great-grandchild­ren. She was the keeper of our family, was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.

The family is especially thankful to her tender caregivers and to the incredible love shown to her by her devoted daughter-inlaw, Glyneva.

July 10, 2018, at his home. He was born February 4, 1940, at Washita, Arkansas, to Lum and

Viva Montgomery Rowland.

Everett most enjoyed cattle farming and visiting with family and friends. Everett served this country in the 3710 BMTS Air Force unit and worked over 30 years as Arkansas State Surveyor. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, a 33rd degree Mason, Illustriou­s Potentate 2004 Scimitar Shrine Temple, and a member of the Royal Order of Jesters Court 12. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lisa Rowland, a son, Randy Rowland, a brother, Howard Rowland, and a sister, Elouise Elston. He is survived by his son, Steve Rowland of North Little Rock; daughter, Christa Rowland of New York; brother, Darrell Rowland of Jacksonvil­le; two grandchild­ren; one great-grandchild; and Barbara Rowland, his former wife and mother of Steve and Randy, and Everett’s caregiver for the last few months of his life.

He worked for Entergy for 40 years in Little Rock and Pine Bluff, Arkansas, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Beaumont, Texas, as a draftsman. He was Catholic, a devoted family man, and attended Corinth Baptist Church with his family. He loved to read, crossword puzzles and history.

He married his wife, Ann Bonds, on November 22, 1962, at Corinth Baptist Church on Holley Mountain in Clinton, Arkansas. They have two sons, Paul, wife Nancy, of Riverdale, Utah, and Allen of Clinton, and one daughter, Kerrie Baker, husband, Ethan of Brinkley, Arkansas. They have five grandsons, Andrew, Brandon, Owen, Noah and Mitchell, and three granddaugh­ters, Kingsleigh, Aimsleigh and Ryeleigh.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Ruth Lankford of Russellvil­le, Ark.; five daughters and sons-in-law, Resa and the late Ed Evans of Russellvil­le, Ark., Valerie and Roger Gaunt of Fort Smith, Ark., Sandy and Jon Clack of San Marcos, Texas, Linda Freeman and Bradley Peach of Conway, Ark., Donna and Rex Conatser of Frisco, Texas; sister, Mary Kasper of North Little Rock, Ark.; 13 grandchild­ren; and six great-grandchild­ren.

He was a former grocery store manager of Kroger and Milgram’s and they owned their own grocery store for over 10 years. He was a fisherman, loved camping with his family in the early years and enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. His favorite pastime was watching NASCAR races, Animal Kingdom and National Geographic. He loved coloring in his later years and sharing his artwork with his grandkids.

Janet Bailey on November 30,

1935, in the Baileytown community of Claiborne

Parish, Louisiana. She was the daughter of the late Rev. George Clements Bailey and Ocie Ovelia Ellis Bailey.

She attended a number of schools in Arkansas as her father was a Methodist preacher who moved often in her early school years due to the war when preachers were joining the military as chaplains, which left a shortage of preachers. Janet graduated from Fordyce High School, and later took classes at the U of A Phillips Community College.

Janet married May 24, 1952, in Louann, Arkansas, the love of her life, Joseph Sterling Bryant, and became the mother of 4 wonderful children. She gave of her time to the organizati­ons her children were involved in. She served as Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout leader, Band Parent President, and Sunday school teacher.

In 1974, Janet began working for the Arkansas County Treasurer in DeWitt. Upon moving to Stuttgart in 1976, she worked as Deputy Assessor for Arkansas County where she worked until her retirement in December of 1995. She was certified in personal property assessment by the State of Arkansas and by the IAAO in real estate appraisal. In 1998, she became J.P. for District 8 of Arkansas County where she served for 10 years. She served as the J.P. representa­tive for Arkansas County to all state meetings. Janet served on the Arkansas County Restoratio­n and Preservati­on Committee, whose mission was restoring and/or preserving the irreplacea­ble Arkansas County records that date back to the early 1800’s. She enjoyed her work with the county and loved performing weddings occasional­ly.

She was an avid genealogis­t and was a charter member for the Grand Prairie Genealogic­al Society and served as Vice President and President and served on the board of directors of that organizati­on. She also served on the Board of the Arkansas Genealogic­al Society. She served as a genealogic­al helper at the Stuttgart Public Library on Saturday afternoons. In 2004, after years of research and hard work, she published a family history called “Bailey Memories.” She considered this one of her biggest accomplish­ments, other than being a mother to her children. She was a member of the Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, where she served on the administra­tive board and the United Methodist Women.

She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband, Joe Bryant. She is survived by three sons, Mike Bryant and wife Rebecca of Bryant; David Bryant and wife Becky of Cabot; and Jeff Bryant and wife Danyell of Alexander. One daughter, Judy Langston and husband Charles of Little Rock; 13 grandchild­ren: Christy Notley and husband Matt of DeKalb, Texas; Misty Yant and husband J.J. of Little Rock; Bryan Langston and wife Amber of Rogers; Becca Steven and husband Chris of Benton; Montie Bryant of Hot Springs; Dorothy Flournoy and husband Sterling of Little Rock; Laura Bryant Taylor and husband David of Russellvil­le; Ashley Bryant Hancock and husband Lonnie of Jacksonvil­le; Joseph Bryant and wife Ashley of Ward; Powell Bryant and wife Courtney of Rogers; and Andrei, Ivan & Morgan Bryant of Alexander; four great-grandsons, Ryan and Tyler Yant; Bengamin Langston of Rogers and Logan Hancock; two great-granddaugh­ters, Lilly Langston and Bailey Bryant; one brother, James Bailey of Quincy, Ill..; sister-in-laws, Virginia Bryant of Little Rock; Montine Bryant of Fordyce; Shirley Cherry of Odem, Texas; and Pat Belin of Hermitage; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews of Arkansas and Texas.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2018, at Turpin Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 a.m., and burial following at 3:00 p.m. in Smith Morgan Cemetery in Cleveland County, Ark.
