Guide toward success
Parents know there is nothing more important than preparing their child for life, starting with an excellent education. While many kids succeed in traditional public schools across Arkansas, some need a different model to reach their full potential.
My son, Christian, was born with a genetic condition which caused delayed speech and underdeveloped cognitive abilities. He attended our zoned school for six years struggling to learn, so we began to home-school, which was our family’s only affordable option.
Like any parent, I want my son to thrive so he will have opportunities in his future.
I learned of Succeed Scholarship, which allows students with an individualized education program funds to attend a private school whose environment better suits them. With the scholarship, I was able to send Christian to Prism Education Center, where he has received the individualized instruction he needs. Christian has worked overtime to catch up academically, and even developed leadership skills. As his mom, I am proud to have watched him come so far!
Being a single mom and sole provider of three, I’m grateful for the opportunity school choice provides my son and our family. I see Christian flourishing with a bright future.
Last year, over 160 Arkansas students like Christian benefited from the Succeed Scholarship. Unfortunately, not every family whose children need options has choices. Families and teachers have a goal to guide children toward success in school and life. I ask Arkansans to support legislation expanding educational opportunities for all our families.
