City worker added to nonprofit’s board
Dwight Pridgeon, a community engagement specialist for the city of Little Rock, has been elected to the board of directors for Neighborhoods U.S.A., a national nonprofit organization that works to strengthen communities.
Pridgeon has been involved with Neighborhoods U.S.A. since 2008, when he attended his first conference in Virginia, according to a news release from the city.
The group is governed by a 21-member board elected to three-year terms. Little Rock is to host the group’s national conference in 2020.
Mayoral candidates to speak at forum
Four men running for Little Rock mayor will appear in a candidate forum hosted by the city’s NBC and Fox affiliates, KARK-TV and KLRT-TV, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The forum will take place at Saint Mark Baptist Church, 5722 W. 12th St. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
The forum will air on both stations from 6:30 to 7 p.m. The second half-hour will be broadcast live on the Facebook pages for the church and TV stations.
Baker Kurrus, Warwick Sabin, Frank Scott Jr. and Vincent Tolliver will answer questions submitted by viewers. Topics will include job creation, public safety, infrastructure and economic development.
Candidates will be given the same amount of time to answer questions and will not be allowed to use their time to discuss another candidate’s campaign or position.

The Art Porter Music Education program’s 2018 Jazz Week will kick off Monday with young musicians playing in the Little Rock City Hall rotunda at noon, according to a news release from the city.
City Hall is located at 500 W. Markham St.
Other free jazz events will take place in the River Market District of downtown Little Rock at noon Tuesday and 7 p.m. Friday at 109 & Co., at 109 Main St.
