BILL BLASINGAME, 63, of Little Rock, Ark., passed away July 25, 2018. He was born on July 29, 1954 in Augusta, Ga., and was the son of Bill and Jean Blasingame.

He was a member of Ironton Baptist Church, and loved hunting, fishing and family. He was preceded in death by Bill and Jean Blasingame, and his wife Mary Blasingame.

Little Rock Missionary Baptist

Church, where he began leading singing at the age of 14 and carried his love of singing throughout his lifetime. Robert served his country in the United States Army for 23 years, including the Korean and Vietnam wars.

He was married to Virginia Walker Fowler for 39 happy years. They sold Avon Products together for many years after Robert retired from the Army. They lived in San Antonio until 1991, when they moved to the Sherwood area.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Virginia; son, Robert D. Fowler, Jr. and his wife, Lisa; daughters Roberta (Robbie) Townsend and Rebecca Fowler; step children, C.J., Travis, Isabella and Victoria; grandson, Joshua Matthew Fowler; brother, Carl D. Fowler and his sister, Laura Birchett.

H. Good, the first of three boys. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his two sons, Cameron Good of Joppa, Maryland, and Bryce Good of Little Rock; his two brothers, David Good, of Montrose, Colorado and Stephen Good, of Dallas Texas, and one sister, Jenifer Loffredo, of Detroit, Michigan; as well as four grandchild­ren (Avery and Mason Good of Maryland, and Kylie and Ella Good of Little Rock); and his niece, Beverly Oliver of Dallas, Texas and nephew, Christophe­r Good, of New York City.

Henry was loved by many and had friendship­s that went back to his earliest childhood days in England, Arkansas, where he grew up before moving to Little Rock in 1961. Henry always had a special place in his heart for England. Friends remember his gift for friendship, his wonderful sense of humor, his curly hair, and especially his love of practical jokes.

Henry graduated from Hall High School in Little Rock where he was student body president. He attended the University of Arkansas, where he graduated with a degree in accounting. After working as an accountant in Little Rock, Henry opened DaVinci’s Workshop, an antique and furniture refinishin­g business. He had a talent for finding antique pieces and bringing out the beauty in them through his refinishin­g wizardry. Later, he went back into the financial industry, working as a stock broker and then for the Arkansas Department of Finance. Even after returning to the financial world, Henry always retained a keen eye for artistic design, and had an appreciati­on for the unique and beautiful. His house was always full of interestin­g art deco and other unusual pieces.

A memorial service will be held for Henry on September 29, 2018, to remember his life, sense of humor and smile. The details will be available on the Facebook page in the name of Henry Good. Ret. MSgt RICHARD STANLEY MACARTHUR, age 84, of Jacksonvil­le, passed away

He was born

Jan. 3, 1934, in Waltham,

Mass., to John and Beatrice MacArthur. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Judith E. MacArthur, a grandson, Caleb R. White, and by four siblings.

Richard served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War and retired after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Jacksonvil­le V.F.W. Post 4548. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Yvonne MacArthur; two daughters, Linda Dillie and Lori (Sean) White; son, Kevin MacArthur; four stepchildr­en, Dewayne (Mary) Howell, Martha Jones, Cindy Howell and Alisa Lack; and by a host of grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren.

DR. ROBERT F SCHAEFER, SR., of Little Rock, Ark., passed away on July 26, 2018 at the age of 92.

He was born in Glen Carbon, Illinois on

July 5, 1926 to

Dr. George and

Agnes Schaefer. He graduated from high school in Dexter, Mo., and started college at Marquette University at the age of 16. He attended medical school at St.

Louis University and graduated in 1948 at the age 21.

He began his internship at Fordham University in New York, N.Y., and continued residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He served as a captain in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Austria during the Korean War. He was awarded a letter of commendati­on from Queen Elizabeth for his bravery in rescuing British Soldiers from a fire at a hospital in Austria. After returning to the US, he completed a pathology residency in St. Louis. He began a long career as a pathologis­t within the Veterans Administra­tion System in June 1956.

While teaching residents in St. Louis, he met and later married Helen Santos M.D on Feb. 7, 1959. They moved to Little Rock, Ark., in 1960. Together they had five children: Robert Francis Jr., Helen Angie, George Valentine, John Paul, and Agnes Priscilla.

Dr. Schaefer was a beloved physician and educator in the specialty of Pathology. He devoted 52 years of unparallel­ed service to the Veterans Administra­tion during which time he also served as Chief of Pathology. He was a renowned educator as a Professor in Pathology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He retired at the age of 82 in November 30, 2008.

He was a devoted Catholic, an original and longtime parishione­r of Christ the King Church in Little Rock, Ark. He was passionate about his career in medicine and teaching medical students and residents. Later in life, he enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with his growing family. Other interests Robert enjoyed were flying his private plane, weekly visitation­s to the Eucharist Adoration Chapel at Christ the King Church, and listening to music. He also played the clarinet and harmonica.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Dr. George and Agnes Schaefer, his brother George Schaefer and his sister-in-law Aida Schaefer. Robert is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dr. Helen Schaefer, his brother Reverend James Schaefer of Ozora, Mo., his sister in law Nonie San Pedro of Little Rock, Ark., and his brother and sister in law Robert and Lourdes Werner of Little Rock, Ark. He is also survived by his five children and their spouses: Dr. Robert Jr. and Lisa Schaefer of St. Louis, Mo., Helen Angie Elser of Little Rock, Ark., Dr. George and Alesia Schaefer of Rogers, Ark., John Paul and Linda Schaefer of Grapevine, Texas, and Agnes P. Condren of Maumelle, Ark. He is also survived by 26 grandchild­ren and 9 great grandchild­ren.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 30 at 6:00 pm with a rosary prayer starting at 7:00 pm at Christ the King Church at 4000

Margaret was strong, hard-working, independen­t, fearless and stubborn to a flaw! In short, a force to be reckoned with! She was the Matriarch of our family and a shining example of unselfish love! She was the greatest blessing God bestowed upon us. Not one day will go by without us thinking of and missing her! We live with the knowledge we will be reunited with her in Heaven!

26, 2018. She was born to the late Andy Traylor and Grace Weatherfor­d on

January 15, 1930 in Moro, Arkansas.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Louie Weeks; daughter, Jackie Ann Weeks-Stivers; granddaugh­ter, Amy Keown-Gordon; one sister and 2 brothers.

Pauline is survived by her loving son, Bobby Weeks (Nita) of North Little Rock; one grandchild, Timothy Keown (Alisha) of Cabot; eight great-grandchild­ren; and three sisters, Lorene Jones of Memphis, Julie King (Don) of Scott and Francis Smith of Little Rock.

Pauline was a lifelong and devoted member of the 47th Street Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time quilting, reading and fishing, but her greatest joy was the time she spent with family and friends. She was a woman who has left a great living legacy and will be greatly missed…but fondly remembered by all who knew her.

JEAN WRIGHT of North Little Rock passed away July 23, 2018. She was born Sept. 17, 1927 in Levy, Ark., to the late Henry Houston Tolbert and Dora Lee Graham Tolbert. She was the youngest and sole survivor of their seven children. Jean was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and helped with GA’s and the WMU. She enjoyed traveling with the AR Good Sam’s Club, where she also served as treasurer. She dedicated her life to raising her children and grandchild­ren, teaching them to be a good friend, neighbor, Christian and a genuinely good person.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Samuel A. Wright Jr. Survivors include her children: Brenda “Sissy” Miller (David); Samuel “Gary” Wright (Mary) and Rochelle Nix (Tommy); grandchild­ren: Terri Thompson (Scott), Chris Wright, Andy Wright (Jessica), Deric Nix (Amanda), Hayden Nix (Megan); and six great-grandchild­ren.

During retirement he enjoyed playing golf, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, his favorite football team, and spending time with his family.

He was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in North Little Rock where he served as an usher, lector, president of the school board, CYO Chaperone and Men’s Club member.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Regina Neumeier, and by a brother, Bill Neumeier.

–––––❖––––– HARRISON — Walter “Boots” Mayberry went to heaven on July 25th after 94 years of faithful service to God, country, friends and family. Born on August 11, 1923 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Walter and Edith Richter Mayberry, Boots graduated from Pine Bluff and joined the Army Air Corps.

He married Marion Caruthers and raised three daughters. Moving to Harrison in 1972, the Mayberrys joined Kairos, a prison ministry. Boots’ intriguing stories are recorded in the book POW, Promises Kept and in the Library of Congress.

Walter graduated from North Arkansas Community College at 88. He served as a lay minister, choir and vestry member at St. John’s Episcopal Church. He frequently blessed and prayed for anyone he encountere­d, sharing the love of Christ.

The service is Monday, July 30, at 10:00 at St. John’s in Harrison.

HOT SPRINGS — Frances Madge Grace Christison, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, July

24, 2018. She was born on

Oct. 30, 1924 in

El Dorado, Ark., the only child of Frances Marion Belky Grace and Harold Byrd

Grace.

Madge attended schools in El Dorado then moved with her family to Hot Springs, Ark., where she graduated from Hot Springs High School and was a member of DBS Sorority. After high school Madge attended Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans, La., and then the University of Arkansas where she was a journalism and music major and a member of Chi Omega Sorority. Following college, Madge was a columnist for the Hot Springs Sentinel Record before moving to Little Rock and working for a public relations firm. She returned to Hot Springs, worked for Arkansas Bank and Trust Co. and was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Hot Springs Country Club, and Junior Auxiliary. Madge married Wayne Allen Christison and lived in Columbus, Ohio, with her family for eight years after which they made moves to Cincinnati, Ohio, Dallas, Texas, and Nashville, Tenn., for his career. Madge and Wayne retired to their lake home on Lake Hamilton where they enjoyed outings on the lake and entertaine­d family and friends.

She was also a member of the Chi Omega Alumni, Hot Springs Music Club and Hope Presbyteri­an Church (formerly Covenant Presbyteri­an Church). She was passionate about her family and her faith, taught Bible studies and enjoyed cooking and entertaini­ng, playing the piano, feeding and watching her backyard birds, and cuddling with her dogs. Most importantl­y, “Meemaw”, as known to her grandchild­ren, was a wonderful grandmothe­r who loved spending time with her precious grandchild­ren.

Madge is survived by her daughters, Randi Ballard (Barry) of Hot Springs, Ark., and Laurie Smith (Ted) of Conway; her four beloved grandchild­ren: Kathryn Ballard Morat (Crate) of Indianapol­is, Ind., Lee Ballard (Briana) of Coral Springs, Fla., Emily Smith Munn (Josh) of Houston, Texas, and Margaret Smith (fiance’ Adam Lee) of San Francisco, Calif.; and, her great-grandchild­ren, Violet Isabelle Ballard and Charlotte Grace Munn. She is also survived by her sister-inlaw, Kathryn Gardner of Jacksonvil­le, Ill.; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ralph and Liz Christison of Peru, Ill., and her nieces and nephews as well as special long-time friends, Sue Magby and Eva Bailey, both of Pearcy, Ark. The family wishes to thank her special companion and caregiver, Veronica Blair, for her loving and devoted care. Deep appreciati­on is also extended to Arkansas Hospice and the 5th floor in-hospital hospice team, for their excellent and compassion­ate care during the last 12 days of her life. HOT SPRINGS — Chuck Frazier, 77, of Hot Springs, passed away July 26, 2018 after a hard fight with leukemia.

Chuck was born on a dirt floor in Cave

City and raised in a loving home with his brothers, Richard and Donald Frazier, and sister, Brenda Frazier Owens.

Chuck proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Upon leaving the service Chuck moved to Little Rock and started working in the car business. A few years later Chuck was the owner of Chuck Frazier Executive Motors.

In 1981 Chuck moved to Hot Springs and became the owner of Chuck Frazier Nissan. After a 25 year span Chuck built this business into one of the premier auto dealership­s in Hot Springs. Chuck also owned and operated Chuck Frazier Chevrolet in Glenwood for 10 years.

Chuck was proud of his country and the opportunit­ies it offered his family, and the tremendous support he was shown by his long-time employees and customers in Hot Springs.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Beverly Dell Lamb Frazier; his two sons, Charles Lee Frazier and Charles Christophe­r Frazier; four grandchild­ren, Vince Frazier, Justin Frazier, Virginia Frazier Kirk, Alexandra Frazier Burrow; and six great-grandchild­ren.

HOT SPRINGS — Otis Wendell Hood, Junior (April 7, 1941-July 13, 2018), died after an illness in Hot Springs, Ark. He was born in Little Rock and attended Little Rock Central High until closed in 1957, then transferre­d to McCallie Preparator­y, Chattanoog­a, Tenn., and attended Vanderbilt University. He joined the Marine Corps, trained at Paris Island, SC, and served in Viet Nam and SE Asia.

Otis was the son of Otis Wendell Hood, Senior, 1891-1946, and Opal Beatrice Hood Townsend, 1910-1998. Interment: Pinecrest Cemetery, Highway 5, between Hot Springs and Little Rock, next to his father and mother.

Otis excelled in customer relations including starting Culligan Water Purificati­on offices in Salt Lake City, Denver, and Kansas City. He also worked for Continenta­l Airlines in Denver and Houston.

Otis loved sports, including golf and tennis. During the past 20 years, he coached high school age tennis teams to victories in their leagues — four champion girls’ teams and one boys’ team.

His card stated

“Otis Hood Personaliz­ed Tennis.” He gave lessons whether his students could pay or not. Otis was in a League of His Own.

His sister Jo Ann Hood Bergman (born 1939) died in Nyack, N.Y., in 2016. He is survived by his son David Michael Hood of Charleston, S.C., and his sister Bobbie Sue Hood, San Francisco, Calif. His family thanks Pastor John McCallum his minister, and Otis’ longtime friend, Lisa Nemzo with whom he traveled in California and Australia.

ATLANTIC BEACH, N.C. — Winfred Hayden Ball II, of Atlantic Beach, N.C, formerly of Nashville, Ark., passed away on July 24, 2018, in his home in Atlantic Beach. He was born on Sept. 18, 1974, in Kahului, Maui, Hawaii, to Joe Holcombe Ball and Pam Nielsen Ball.

Hayden was a 1992 graduate of Nashville High School. He loved spending time with friends, playing golf and enjoyed being outside whenever possible, especially at the lake. He loved the Razorbacks and the Scrappers and was proud to have been a Scrapper football team manager.

He attended the University of Arkansas where he was a member of Phi Delta

Theta Fraternity. Hayden will be remembered as a friend to all and for a smile and dimples that could light up a room. He was kind and gentle, so loved by his family. He loved them in return but was most proud of his son, Grayson. Hayden considered his son to be the very best thing that ever happened to him.

Hayden is survived by his son, Grayson Carter Ball of Springdale, Ark; his parents, and his sister, Allison Ball Horn and her husband, Jason, of Nashville. He also leaves behind a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be a memorial service for Hayden on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Nashville. Visitation will be held one hour before the service in the church foyer. A reception will be held at the Nashville Country Club immediatel­y following the service.
