Royal Players announce 2018-2019 season

BENTON — The Royal Players of Benton have announced their 2018-2019 season. All shows will be performed at the historic Royal Theatre, 111 S. Market St. in downtown Benton.

Audition announcements will be posted on Facebook (The Royal Players) and online at www.theroyalplayers.com. Director and music-director submissions and resumes may be sent to theroyalplayers@gmail.com for those shows without a director indicated. Businesses or individuals interested in sponsoring a show should make inquiries to theroyalplayers@gmail.com.

The season will include the following:

• Night of the Living Dead, by Lori Allen Ohm and based on the cult classic film by George Romero and John Russo, Oct. 25-28.

• A Little Princess, based on the Victorian-era novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett and written by Andrew Lippa and Andrew Crawley, Nov. 29 through Dec. 9.

• Parade, with songs by Jason Robert Brown and book by Alfred Uhry, Feb. 7-17, 2019, directed by Mark A. Burbank.

• A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, with music by Stephen Sondheim, April 4-14, 2019.

• Steel Magnolias, by Robert Haring, June 6-16, 2019.

• Disaster! written by threetime Emmy Award-nominee and SiriusXM Broadway host Seth Rudetsky and Jack Plotnick, Aug. 15-25, 2019, and directed by Justin A. Pike.
