MARTHA ANN DAVIS FOX was born in Forrest City, Arkansas, on August 4,

1930, to the late Mackie Thomas and

Martha Mable (Edwards) Davis. She passed away on October 4, 2018, in

Little Rock, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Standley Fox; his parents, Asa Standley and Wenona Carolyn Fox; her daughter, April Lee Fox; granddaugh­ter, Meredith Ann Fox; her brother and sister-in-law, Lonnie Mack and Mary Louise Davis; her brother, Raymond Davis; nephew, Christophe­r Davis; her brother-inlaw, John Meredith Fox; and her niece, Wendy (Fox) Griffith.

She is survived by her four sons and their families: David Standley and Carol Fox Jr. and their children, Nick Collier and his wife Noelle, Laura Fox, and Samantha Fox; Timothy Davis Fox and his children Caitlin (Fox) Ewing and her husband James, and Andrew Fox; Thomas Meredith and Linda (Brown) Fox and their children Lee Fox and William Fox; and Raymond Tracy and Ann (Richardson) Fox and their children, Elaina Fox, Audrey Fox, and Asa Fox. She is also survived by a brother, Thomas Edwards Davis and his wife Gudi; her sister-in-law Catherine Davis Davidson; two great-grandsons, Ryan Collier and Carter Collier; and a number of beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Martha Ann was a member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church where she belonged to the Dietz Dialogue Class and the Bible Study Class, Read It Again Bible Study (RIABS), the United Methodist Women, the Society of St. Stephen, and the Board of Stewards. She was also a member of Chapter W PEO Sisterhood, the TALL Book Club, and the OGL Group of Forrest City. Martha Ann was also a past-President and member of the Board of Directors of both the Allen School for Exceptiona­l Children and the CPA Wives Club.

Martha Ann’s nascent orthograph­ic prowess was on early display when at age ten, and already in the fifth grade, she became the youngest of 45 contestant­s qualifying for the MidSouth Spelling Bee. At the contest’s conclusion she emerged as the winner for the entire State of Arkansas.

Visitation will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, 2018. A graveside service will be conducted at Roselawn Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 8, 2018, followed by a Memorial Service and Reception at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Reverend Jeff Hampton will be officiatin­g.
