Mrs. WANDA “JEAN” MARSH FRYE, 89, of Sherwood, Ark., passed away peacefully on October 4, 2018. She was born on

November 11, 1928, to the late William Carmel Marsh and the late Carrie Marsh. The youngest of four (4) daughters, she joined sisters, Kathleen Ball, Nellie Victoria Tidwell and Vivian Sharp. All of whom preceded her in death. After graduating from Russellvil­le High School, Jean obtained her Bachelor’s of Science degree at Arkansas Tech and her Masters in Education from the University of Arkansas. Jean retired after 38 wonderful years teaching Medical Technology at Sparks Regional Medical Center, where she met the love of her life, Ed. On June 1, 1950, Jean married Edward S. “Ed” Frye, in Fort Smith, Ark., where they raised their three children, William, Kent and Karen. Ed preceded her in death just after celebratin­g their 50th wedding anniversar­y. Jean was a life long member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith, Ark. Over the last 10 years, Jean attended First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock and was a member of the Walter Seekers Sunday School Class.

She is survived by her children, William C. “Bill” Frye, and his wife, Beverly, of Sherwood, Ark., Dr. E. Kent Frye, and his wife, Leesa, of Bourbonnai­s, Ill., and Karen J. Smith, and her husband, David, of Rudy, Ark.; grandchild­ren, Thomas E. Frye, Mollie B. Frye, W. Marsh Frye, Amanda L. (Barry) Miller, Jason C. Frye, Alexander K. Frye, Charles G. Frye, Kaelyn M. (Keith) Boen and Timothy E. Frye; great-grandchild­ren, Kash and Kassidy Boen, Houston and Davis Frye, Tyler, Kierston, and Kirklynd Miller.

The family would like to thank the caring staff of Elmcroft and Sherwood Health and Rehabilita­tion for their love and care of Mom. Also, a special thank you to Kindred Hospice for their help and comfort over the last year. In honor of her memory, an interment service will be held at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, 522 South 6th Street, in Fort Smith, Ark., on Friday, October 12, 2018, at 10 a.m., with Revered Brent Higden, of First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock, officiatin­g. Scales in Humnoke, Arkansas.

She confessed her hope in Christ at an early age and worked for many years in the church. She held various positions at Revelation C.O.G.I.C. (Carlisle, Ark.) under the leadership of Bishop D.L. Lindsey and Bishop Harvey T. Young. She held the position of National Supervisor of Leading Ladies of the United Fellowship Ministries, under the leadership of Bishop Samuel White and Leading Lady of Kingdom Covenant Ministries. Most recently, she proudly served as First Lady of New Zion Temple Ministries (North Little Rock) with her husband, Bishop Joseph Lawrence Sr.

Mother Lawrence departed this life Monday, October 8, at home surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmo and Ruth Scales; three brothers, Othel, John L, and Windell Scales; and son Mark Lawrence. Lois was born January 23, 1948, and grew up in Humnoke, Ark. She retired after working many years for the State of Arkansas.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Bishop Joseph Lawrence Sr., of Sherwood; daughter, Kymara Nichols-Harris of Sherwood; son, Clarence Nichols Jr. (LiKisha) of Maumelle; her blended family of five daughters: Sandra Jones, Phyllis Lawrence-Bolden, Vickie Lawrence, Devaney Bradford (Gaylin), and Bernita Jones (Melvin); three sons, Joseph Lawrence Jr., Darrin Lawrence and Kelly Lawrence; two sisters, Estella Johnson and Nora (Freddie) Anderson; one granddaugh­ter, Erica Harris; four grandsons, Eliott Harris, Alex Harris, Chase Nichols, Chad Nichols; and one great-grandson, Jayden Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

JANE MONAHAN, 78 of Sherwood, Arkansas, passed from this life on October 9, 2018.

She was born on April 13,

1940, in Little

Rock, Arkansas, to the late

Bill and Pauline Bennett. Jane enjoyed going to yard sells, flea markets but most of all loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Christian Assembly of God Church in Sherwood.

Jane is also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Monahan; brother, Bill Bennett Jr and granddaugh­ter, Amanda Brannum. 2018. She was born January

15, 1948, in Ft.

Sill, Oklahoma, to James and

Alma Noakes Wurman.

She graduated from Wheaton College, where she studied English literature. She married Jon Sanford, and together they raised 15 children. She was widely beloved for her energy, open-heartednes­s, humor, and artistic talent. She was a gifted performer and appeared in many theatrical production­s at the Arkansas Repertory Theatre, Murry’s Dinner Playhouse, and other venues. In 2002 she married Dan Scott.

She was the proud grandmothe­r of 17 grandchild­ren, and recently an even prouder great-grandmothe­r of three great-grandchild­ren. In the last years of her life, she fearlessly bore unremittin­g pain and disability with astonishin­g courage and spirit.

She is survived by her husband Dan, and her children Terry Sanford, Ethel Dare, Mary Cruikshank, Matthew Sanford, Anna Stiritz, David Sanford, Nathan Sanford, Josh Sanford, Sharon Sanford, Dero Sanford, James Sanford, and Aaron Scott, and many sons and daughters-in-law.

Her friends are invited to gather to celebrate her life on Friday, October 12th at 5 p.m., at Boulevard Bread Company in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Her memorial service will be at 3 p.m., on Saturday, October 13th at Grace Fellowship Church in Russellvil­le, Arkansas. The family invites you to arrive at 2 p.m. to visit before the service starts.

Rev. Lindsey Thomas Sr., where he was ordained as a deacon in 1976. In 1997, he united with St. John MB Church, 2601 Main Street, Little Rock, Ark., under the pastorage of Rev. Leonard Hawkins. In his later years, he attended Longley Baptist Church with his wife until his health declined.

Ricky and Barbara Johnson-Wilborn were blessed with four children, Richard Wilborn, Jr., Miller, Ga.; Eric Wilborn, Sr. (Verona), Chester, Va.; Brandis Wilborn-Hall (Patrick), Union City, Ga.; and Ricole Wilborn, Dallas, Texas; three grandsons, Eric Wilborn, Jr., Julian and Brennan Hall; and one granddaugh­ter, Auburn Wilborn; one brother, Clint Wilborn, Fairfield, Calif.; six sisters, Belva Parks (Dorthell) and Angela Croston, Little Rock, Ark., Kathy Bankston (Kenneth), Mission Viejo, Calif., Traylene Watson (Roger) and Gwendolyn Avery, both of Fairfield, Calif., and Chandra Davis (Willie) of Las Vegas, Nev.; all who will cherish his memory along with a host of other relatives and friends.
