–––––❖––––– CONWAY — Thomas John Brown, age 83, of Conway passed away on Saturday, October 6,

2018. Tom (T.J.,

“Bud”) was born on June 25, 1935, in West Helena, Arkansas. Tom married Brucine on June 2, 1958, and were inseparabl­e until her death in 2007.

Over their years together, Tom and Brucine went from Helena to Akron, Ohio, where Tom worked for Yokahama Tire. In 1979, they journeyed to Roanoke, Va., where they lived until Tom retired. They were the proud parents of two children, Thomas Jerome and Alisa Gayle. They remained in Roanoke until relocating to Conway, Ark., in 2005 to be near their daughter and her family. Tom was a faithful member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church where he was a reliable member of the Bus Ministry. In his retirement years, Tom drove a shuttle for the University of Central Arkansas.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, William Earl and Tressie Leona, and his wife, Brucine Morton Brown. He is survived by his children: Thomas Jerome Brown (Kathryn), and Alisa Gayle Brown Chamblee (Charles); Grandchild­ren: Justine Tyler Brown, Claire Eileen Brown, William Charles Chamblee and Jonathan Thomas Chamblee; and great-granddaugh­ter Isabella Claire Pinnock Brown.

Funeral services will be held at Woodland Heights Baptist Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, with visitation preceding the service at 10 a.m. Services will be under the direction of Roller-McNutt and will be officiated by Dr. Charles Chamblee and Dr. Larry White. A graveside service for immediate family will follow the service at Crestlawn Cemetery.

–––––❖––––– CONWAY — Charles Marlin Stout, age 90, of Conway, passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018. Charles was born on March 23, 1928, to Marlin and Rena Stout of Hattievill­e. He was retired from Southweste­rn Bell Telephone Company. He owned and operated Stout Constructi­on and Real Estate from 1974 to 1995, during which time he developed five subdivisio­ns and built over 500 homes. He entered the Maritime Service in 1945.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy Brents; the mother of his children, Katherine Stout; his son, Mike Stout; and his daughter-in-law, Carol Stout.

He is survived by his daughter: Susan Bell (Bob); granddaugh­ters: Michelle Odom (Brian), Stacy Hammons (Rob), and Amanda Wofford (William); six great-grandchild­ren: Quinn and Cullen Odom; Zac, Tyler and Lexi Hammons; and John Wofford; two brothers: Doug Stout (Debbie) and Ed Stout (Pat); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 12, at 2 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Morrilton, Arkansas, with Brian Odom officiatin­g.

DES ARC — Patrick “Pat” Vincent Hatfield Sr., 63, of Des Arc, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, October 5, 2018. Patrick was born June 14, 1955, in Stuttgart, Arkansas, and was the eldest son of Raymond H. and Elizabeth Fischer Hatfield. He graduated from Catholic High School for Boys in 1973 where he served as a manager for the school football team, the Rockets. He was a member of the Catholic Youth Organizati­on (CYO) and served on the Outside team for the CYO Search for Christian Maturity for many years. Pat was a parishione­r of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Slovak, and a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Slovak Council #3998, serving as Grand Knight, as well as other offices.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparen­ts, Harvey and Mary Jane Hatfield, and maternal grandparen­ts, George and Matilda Fischer. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny Steven Hatfield, Paul Chester Hatfield, and Raymond Hatfield, Jr.; and a son, Christophe­r Michael Hatfield.

Pat is survived by his three children, Sarah Marie Hatfield of Slovak, Patrick “Rick” Vincent Hatfield Jr. (Nancy), of Conway and Katherine Hatfield Neblett (Leo) of Little Rock. He leaves behind one sister, Phyllis Hatfield LoPorto of Keo, and one brother, James Hatfield (Kim) of Lawton, Oklahoma. Pat is also survived by his first grandson, Sebastian Matthew Hatfield, (infant son of Rick and Nancy) born September 29, 2018, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. He had a special fondness for his aunts Virginia Fischer Lisko and Martha Hatfield Hosto.

Funeral services, officiated by Fr. Shaun C. Wesley, will be 1 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2018, at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church with burial of cremains at Sts. EL PASO — Ava L. Sexton Walker, 88, of El Paso, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord Wednesday October 3, 2018. She was born July 13, 1930 in Crossroads, Ark. to Walter and Emma Cotton. Ava was preceded in death by her parents, daughters, Glenda Nelson and Carolyn Helderman, brothers, Lawrence (Bigon), Clarence and Arthur Joe Cotton, and sisters, Viola (Bolie) Young, and Lou Drapper.

–––––❖––––– FAIRFIELD BAY — Delbert Gayer “Bud” Wells, age 88, of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas passed away Friday, September 28, 2018 at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born May 2, 1930 to the late Delbert L. and Elsey Gayer Wells. He was a United States Air Force Veteran, a Civil Engineer, Real Estate Land Developer, Homebuilde­r, and Real Estate Broker. In retirement, he moved from the Iowa Quad Cities to Fairfield Bay where he served as City Code Enforcemen­t Officer for 17 years. He retired again in 2010 to spend time with his beloved boxer, Hope.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Dauner and two stepsons, Todd Walden and Tommy Walden. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Willa Wilson Walden Wells; three sons, Tom Wells (Bonnie), David Wells (Josey), and Jonathan Wells (Lily); six grandchild­ren; three great-grandchild­ren; Willa’s two surviving sons, Tim Walden (Marty) and Terryn Walden; her 7 grandchild­ren and 5 great-grandchild­ren; her daughter-in-law, Linda Walden; brother, Richard Wells (Peg) and their 4 children and grandchild­ren; his brother-in-law, Jack Dauner; other relatives, and friends.

Raised by her widowed mother, she earned her GED as an adult, graduating in the top 10 of her class. She was an amazing Mother, beautiful Wife, and a very talented Artist. Following her artistic passion, she opened The Rainbow Connection Art Store in Gravel Ridge, teaching classes and excelling at any type of project she took on. Later, she co-owned Nanny’s House Day Care in Sherwood for several years until she moved to northern Arkansas to enjoy the country life with all her beloved “critters”. Above all else, Susan was a culinary genius, winning numerous awards at county fairs and always amazing everyone with her wonderful recipes.

Susan is survived by her husband of seven years: Fred Dunn; Brother: Leslie (Lynda) Gann; three children: Teddy (Dana) Tedford, Brandy (Eric) Flanigan, and Keith Dunn; six grandchild­ren: Nick (Shelby) and Sam Tedford, Gavin and Braydon Flanigan, Cayden Dunn, and Brooklann Louise.

Air Force, enjoyed golfing, fishing, cooking barbecue and watching the Arkansas Razorbacks and Washington Redskins. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family — especially his grandchild­ren, many who knew him as “Pappy.”

He is preceded in death by his mother, Margie Allen; and two brothers, Bill and Dwayne Allen.
