PAUL BAKER JR., 70, of North Little Rock, received his wings on October 7. He was employed by the Little Rock School District until his retirement in 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul Baker Sr. and Mattie B. (Clarence) Satterfiel­d; siblings Joe Baker, Velma Jackson, Aquila Baker, John Baker, Shalalah Kindall, and Ruth Phillips.

It is with sadness to the family of LD FINISTER that he passed away on October 8, 2018. He was born March 22, 1936, in Ruddell, Arkansas, to father, Carl Finister and mother, Orgie Kimbrough Finister. LD joins his wife, Susan Ethel Lytle Finister, in death

His two brothers and two sisters predecease­d him. He is survived by his daughters, Lynne Denise Finister and Lona Dawn Finister Panyard. His son-in-law, Nicholas Panyard, and grandsons, Jack Nicholas Panyard and Ryan Walker Panyard.

LD served in the U.S. Army in the mid-1950s and was stationed at the DMZ in South Korea. He retired from the Arkansas State Highway Department after working there for over thirty years. When he was younger, he enjoyed karate as well as outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, canoeing, and jogging.

Robby is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Joyce Ewell Gore. He has four children, Barbie Henley (Roger) of Roland, Ark.; Robby Gore, Jr. (Mary) of Mabelvale, Ark.; Kerry Gore (Teresa) of Cabot, Ark.; and Judi Peters (Ron) of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; seven grandchild­ren, Shelly Wade Roberts, Michael Wade, Scott Henley (Amber), Amber Crace (Zale), Coribrooke Pittard (Tim), Kara and Brandon Dykes; 15 great-grandchild­ren, Haley and Evan Roberts, Isabelle Wade, Juniper Roberts, Morgan Henley, Brycen and Clara Dobbins, Skylar Hensley, Gabriel and Damien Crace, Adelaide, Joy and Zeke Pittard, Charlie and Simon (deceased) Dykes; three brother, Lloyd Gore (deceased) (Catherine) of Little Rock, Tony Gore (Betty) of Grant, Alabama, and Ronnie Gore (Betsy) of Newport, Ark.; and one sister, Stella Cowan of Mount Vernon, Ill.; and many dear nieces, nephews and friends.

Robby worked for the Coca Cola Company for over 41 years. Following retirement, he worked with his son Kerry at the Pig N Chik in Sherwood, Ark. Robby served in the Arkansas Army National Guard from June 1948 through May 1989. He was honorably discharged as an E-7, Sergeant First Class, serving as Supply Sergeant for the 125th Medical Battalion for many years.

Throughout his life, Robby contribute­d to his community in numerous ways. He assisted in the initiation of the Rock Creek Care Center Food Bank Ministry, receiving an honorary plaque in 2007; served as Assistant Scout Master for Boys Scouts of America, receiving numerous awards; and received a certificat­e of appreciati­on plaque from Rolling Thunder Chapter 1 in 2010 and honorary membership to Rolling Thunder and the POW/MIA awareness effort.

Robby is a faithful member of the Church at Rock Creek. Visitation will be held at Pinecrest Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 7401 AR Highway 5-N, Alexander, Ark. on Friday, October 12, 2018, at 11 a.m. The funeral service will be held at the same location at 12 noon.

He was born on

June 4, 1947, in Belleville, Arkansas, to

Artie and Mildred Hood. Jerry lived by the rule of treating everyone like he wanted to be treated. He never meet a stranger, loved helping, being around people witnessing to others. He had been the owner of Jerry’s Barber Shop in the Heights for the past 52 years. Jerry was a lay minister for the Arkansas Prison System, served on the board of Little Rock Compassion Center and worked on the FBI Citizens Academy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters; Lou Ann Hood Hand, Melinda Hood Borquet, two brothers; Doyle Edward Hood, Sr. and Forrest Hood. Jerry is survived by his wife, Marie; one daughter, Kim Inklwbarge­r; two sons-in-law, Mike Borquet, Jeff Hand; three sisters-in-law, Clara Hood, Kaye Hood, Gladys Hood; seven grandchild­ren and a host of loving great-grandchild­ren.

JILL MACKENZIE, 79, of Little Rock, passed away October 9, 2018, with her family at her side. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to

Ian and Margaret Bartlett MacKenzie, and worked as an

X-ray technician at the VA Hospital for over a quarter of a century.

She is survived by her son, Ian Carter Malone, and grandchild­ren, Jonathan Billings of Russellvil­le, Meredith Malone and Paul Malone, of Little Rock; sister, Ann Merrill of Tulsa; and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband, Dr. George Malone.

–––––❖––––– DAVID ALLAN WHISNANT, of Sherwood, Arkansas, died, on October 08,

2018, at the age of 70. He served as a Corpsman in the United

States Navy during the Vietnam War where he was wounded at Hue City Vietnam and received a Purple

Heart. He retired from the North Little Rock Police Department as a Sergeant. After his retirement, he worked as a Lieutenant at the V.A. Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, one son, two daughters, one brother, one sister, seven grandchild­ren, and five great-grandchild­ren. He is preceded in death by his grandparen­ts, mother, and one son.
