Serves all the citizens

-

I’m a father of five and a veteran and, having recently moved to Arkansas, I was shocked to find out I had missed my window to register to vote by a couple of days. My basic right as a citizen of this country is to vote, yet I couldn’t because of an arbitrary rule. I kept thinking how I served in the military for our country for over a decade, deployed overseas, risked my life hundreds of times, but I lost my right to vote as a citizen. I earned that right!

It made me consider how negative America has become; we’ve lost so many of our values. I’ve questioned a lot lately: Why did I serve? This country feels lost. I decided it was my duty as a citizen to participate in our democracy, so I turned to the candidates running in the 2nd District. A politician’s duty is to be accountable to the people, step up and support all citizens. I had tried contacting French Hill and never received a reply, but Clarke Tucker got back to me the same day. Clarke Tucker met the standard of accountable representation.

In the military you’re held accountable for your actions, and our Congress should be, too. That’s one of Clarke’s main points and that’s what it says in the Constitution, simple. I want a leader who doesn’t serve his party or a president, but serves all the citizens. We the people deserve that. That’s why I support Clarke.
