Lane closings for LR, NLR to end Friday
Preliminary work associated with the $630.7 million project to improve Interstate 30 through downtown Little Rock and North Little Rock will continue to require overnight lane closings in and around the 6.7-mile corridor through Friday, the Arkansas Department of Transportation said.
Contractors are conducting subsurface investigations from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily, weather permitting, at the following locations:
The two-lane section of the northbound on-ramp at Interstate 630/Interstate 30 interchange in Little Rock.
The outside lane of Interstate 40 from U.S. 67/167 to Springhill Drive in North Little Rock.
The northbound inside lane of U.S. 67/167 near McCain Boulevard in North Little Rock.
The southbound on ramp from I-40 to I-30 just after the I-40 overpass in North Little Rock.
The outside westbound lane of I-40 near John F. Kennedy Boulevard in North Little Rock.
The outside northbound lane from I-30 to John F. Kennedy Boulevard in North Little Rock.
The subsurface investigations use borings in the different locations to identify the existing conditions of the soil, type of rock and ground water to help with the design of the most cost-effective, stable roadways or bridges.
Traffic will be controlled with signs and traffic barrels, the department said.
