AULINA COOLEY BELLANDO of Maumelle passed away on October 25, 2018. She was born on October 12, 1929, in DeRidder, La.

She was the daughter of JB and Ermel Cooley. She spent her childhood in DeRidder, La. JB was the Fire Chief of DeRidder, so she grew up living above the fire station at the City Hall. Aulina married James Bellando in 1953 and moved to his hometown of Warren, Ohio, where she remained until 1969. Aulina had many occupation­s in her life. She and Jim Bellando started and owned many small businesses. In moving back to DeRidder, La., she was a secretary at First Baptist Church DeRidder then became the first female Equifax agent. At age 50 she began selling insurance and ran the Glenn Dean Insurance Agency in DeQuincy, La. She also operated a Sears catalog store and then a furniture store, The Furniture Cottage. After retiring, she moved to Maumelle, Arkansas, in 2010 to be close to family. The real story of Aulina is her steadfast love of God and family. Aulina’s love for God was first in her life and guided everything else. The values she lived, the values she gave to her children and grandchild­ren are reflection­s of that.

She is preceded in death by her son, James Robert Bellando. Aulina is survived by her daughter, Betty Jayne and her husband, Robert Edward Hilton, Jr.; sons, John David Bellando and his wife, Deborah, and William JB Bellando and his wife, Julia; grandchild­ren, Caleb Jordan, Sarah Jayne, Jacob Daniel, Laurel Joy, John Marshall, and Robert JB Bellando; and brother, Jimmy Earl Cooley and his wife, Carolyn.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Maumelle, Ark. with Bro. Paul McClung officiatin­g. –––––❖––––– HENRY M. RECTOR, 87, of Little Rock, died on October 27 at the John

L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital.

A direct descendent and namesake of the Civil Warera governor of Arkansas, he was born in Little Rock and graduated from Central High School. As a young man, Henry attained the rank of Eagle Scout. While a student at Little Rock Junior College, he enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve, and in 1950 was called up for active duty in the Korean Conflict. During Henry’s deployment to Korea, he took part in the historic battle of Chosin Reservoir, in which U.S. Marine Corps and Army troops, vastly outnumbere­d by Chinese enemy forces, fought under brutal winter conditions with temperatur­es that reached 35 degrees below zero. Upon Henry’s return to civilian life, he attended the University of Arkansas at Fayettevil­le, receiving a Bachelors degree in Business Administra­tion in 1955. During his college years, Henry served as President of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. From 1955 until his retirement in 2005, he was an executive at Rector Phillips Morse Realty in Little Rock, working in sales and property developmen­t. For many years, Henry was a parishione­r at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, where he served on the vestry. Henry enjoyed playing tennis and golf, and was an avid outdoorsma­n, hunter, and fisherman, with a deep love for the natural beauty and wildlife of Arkansas.

Henry Rector was preceded in death by his parents, Henry M. Rector IV and Mary Elizabeth Rector; stepmother, Beatrice Ursery; brothers, Robert Dunlap “Sonny” Rector and John Patrick “MIke” Rector; half-sister, Jane Rector; and stepson Michael Walker. He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Kay Walker Rector. Henry also leaves his sister Rosemary Rector; Adell Fogleman, his former wife and mother of his three children; son, Henry M. Rector Jr; daughter, Mary Rector Fields and her husband, Michael Fields; daughter, Susan Rector; and stepdaught­er, Suzi Barnes and her husband, Michael Barnes. Henry was a loving grandfathe­r to Henry and Claudia Fields; Whit Walker; and Sydney and Abbey Barnes.

His family is deeply grateful for the kindness and care extended to Henry by the staff of the VA Heroes’ Home in North Little Rock and the Palliative Care Unit of the McClellan Memorial Veterans’ Hospital in Little Rock.
