Juanita Hall

From 1991 until 2008 Velma was employed in various positions with Roller

Funeral Homes.

She was Office Manager at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, and an Office Assistant and Receptioni­st at both Roller-Chenal and Roller-Owens Funeral Homes. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Maumelle.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Gunn; a daughter, Dianna Lynn McMillan; a son, Keith Woods; a brother, Paul Cross; two sisters, Marcia Vowell and Linda Grothoff; five grandchild­ren, Jacob and Zachary McMillan, Brett Marlar, Leslie Whitley, and Harlie Rowton.

–––––❖––––– JOYCE MAURINE FRAZIER MARAK, age 92, passed away November 15, 2018. She was married to W. Charles Marak for 69 years before his passing in 2018. Joyce was born in Dallas, Texas, on February 14, 1926, to the late Otto A. and Elizabeth Kirbie Frazier. After moving to Little

Rock in 1937, she graduated in 1944 from

Mount St. Mary Academy, where she was Prefect of the Sodality. She lettered four years as a member of the

Belles’ Basketball Team, and was a Catholic

High School

Rocket Cheerleade­r and Homecoming

Maid.

Joyce graduated from Little

Rock Junior College (now UALR) and continued her education at Fontbonne College in St. Louis, Missouri, as an English and Dramatic Arts Major.

After college, Joyce’s main career was that of being a wife and mother to three children. However, she did find time to pursue other careers before and after raising her family. She was employed by Southweste­rn Bell, the Arkansas Legislativ­e Council, and the Pulaski County Tax Collector’s office. She also taught kindergart­en at Miss Selma’s School for several years.

Throughout the 1960s, Joyce was a Cub Scout Den Mother and served as the Outdoor Chairman and Program Chairman for the Ouachita Girl Scout Council. She was Treasurer of the Catholic High Parents’ Club, and performed volunteer work for the YWCA Swim Team and the Arkansas AAU Swim Associatio­n as a swimming meet official.

Joyce was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, CHI St. Vincent Auxiliary and various alumnae organizati­ons. She was past Treasurer of the Holy Souls Altar Society and past President of the Mt. St. Mary Alumnae Associatio­n.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Charles Marak Sr. Survivors include a sister, Betty Frazier Johnston (Curt) of Little Rock; a son, Bill Marak (Susan) of Little Rock; two daughters, Jan Posch (Michael) of Orlando, Florida, and Kay Marak of Little Rock; a granddaugh­ter, J’aime Posch Dell (Steven) of Orlando; and two great-grandsons, Steven and Jameson Dell, also of Orlando.

Memorials may be made to Mount St. Mary Academy, 3224 Kavanaugh Blvd., Little Rock, Ark. 72205; Catholic High School for Boys, 6300 Father Tribou Drive, Little Rock, Ark. 72205; or a charity of one’s choice.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 18, at 3 p.m., followed by the Rosary at 4 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.).
