TODAY ‘From the Field’
Storytelling initiative The Yarn, in collaboration with Heifer USA, looks to bring “the spirit of farming to the urban heart of Little Rock” with “Voices from the Field,” 7 p.m. today at Cranford & Co., 512 Main St., Little Rock. A cappella M-Pact
Pop-jazz a cappella group M-Pact performs its “White Christmas” holiday concert, 7:30 p.m. today in Riceland Hall at Arkansas State University’s Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive, Jonesboro. FRIDAY History sandwich
The Arkansas Historic Preservation Program’s next “Sandwiching in History” tour, noon Friday, will visit Curran Hall, 615 E. Capitol Ave., Little Rock. The building, with its Greek Revival architecture, is one of a few surviving Little Rock antebellum houses. The city of Little Rock and the Little Rock Advertising and Promotion Commission restored the property and converted it into the Little Rock Visitor Information Center. It opened on May 18, 2002. Father-daughter duo Andy and Ava Shatley present “A Shatley Family Christmas,” 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Forum Theater, 115 E. Monroe St., Jonesboro. Ava is 13-year-old eighth grader at MacArthur Junior High; Andy is a Jonesboro physical therapist who has appeared in several musical stage productions. SATURDAY Top of the Rock
Female barbershop-style ensemble Top of the Rock Chorus performs at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Center for Humanities and Arts auditorium, University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College main campus, 3000 W. Scenic Drive, North Little Rock. The program will include seasonal tunes, including “Have a Holly Jolly Christmas,” “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and “Mary, Did You Know?” Doors open at 3:30; arrive early to get photos taken with Santa Claus.
