Officers say woman wielded box in fight

A Sherwood woman threw a Popeye’s chicken box at officers who attempted to arrest her during a fight early Friday, according to an arrest report.

Lashanda R. Cooper, 34, is accused of being the woman who walked into a room in Chapel Ridge Apartments near Brockington Road where a woman was sleeping and attacked the sleeper, an arrest report said. Cooper reportedly punched the woman several times “throughout her body” and pulled her hair.

When officers attempted to break up the fight, Cooper threw a Popeye’s chicken box at them and began fighting with police, too, the report said.

Cooper was in the Pulaski County jail without bond on charges of second-degree battery, third-degree domestic battery and resisting arrest Friday evening.
