Widening job shifts U.S. 67/167 traffic
Work on the $79.2 million widening of a 4.6-mile section of U.S. 67/167 in Pulaski and Lonoke counties will require northbound traffic to shift onto newly constructed pavement beginning Monday night, the Arkansas Department of Transportation said.
Northbound traffic will be moved onto newly constructed northbound lanes between Vandenberg Boulevard in Jacksonville and Arkansas 5 in Cabot between 8 p.m. Monday and 1 p.m. Tuesday, weather permitting.
Crews will reposition barrier walls and restripe the newly constructed northbound lanes, the department said. The inside and outside northbound lanes will alternately be closed and shifted onto new alignment during this operation. Traffic will be controlled using traffic barrels and signs.
After the traffic shift, two northbound lanes of traffic will be open while the inside shoulder and left travel lane will be closed to allow work to continue along the median, the department said.
