Widen­ing job shifts U.S. 67/167 traf­fic

Work on the $79.2 mil­lion widen­ing of a 4.6-mile sec­tion of U.S. 67/167 in Pu­laski and Lonoke coun­ties will re­quire north­bound traf­fic to shift onto newly con­structed pave­ment be­gin­ning Mon­day night, the Arkansas Depart­ment of Trans­porta­tion said.

North­bound traf­fic will be moved onto newly con­structed north­bound lanes be­tween Van­den­berg Boule­vard in Jack­sonville and Arkansas 5 in Cabot be­tween 8 p.m. Mon­day and 1 p.m. Tues­day, weather per­mit­ting.

Crews will reposition bar­rier walls and re­stripe the newly con­structed north­bound lanes, the depart­ment said. The in­side and out­side north­bound lanes will al­ter­nately be closed and shifted onto new align­ment dur­ing this op­er­a­tion. Traf­fic will be con­trolled us­ing traf­fic bar­rels and signs.

Af­ter the traf­fic shift, two north­bound lanes of traf­fic will be open while the in­side shoul­der and left travel lane will be closed to al­low work to con­tinue along the me­dian, the depart­ment said.
