His­to­rian to speak on New Lon­don

EL DO­RADO — A his­to­rian will present a lec­ture on his fam­ily his­tory in Amer­ica and Eng­land, and his­tory about New Lon­don, a co-county seat, along with El Do­rado, of Union County dur­ing the 19th cen­tury.

The lec­ture is sched­uled for 2 p.m. to­day dur­ing a Union County Ge­nealog­i­cal So­ci­ety meet­ing at Bar­ton Pub­lic Li­brary, 200 E. Fifth St.

Guest speaker Larry Frisby grew up on a farm in the New Lon­don com­mu­nity that has been in his fam­ily since 1843. He grad­u­ated from Strong pub­lic schools, Oua­chita Bap­tist Univer­sity and the Univer­sity of Ten­nessee School of Den­tistry. He is a fel­low of the Pierre Fauchard Academy In­ter­na­tional.

Ge­nealog­i­cal So­ci­ety mem­bers can col­lect their win­ter is­sue of Tracks and Traces at the meet­ing.

The meet­ing is open to the pub­lic.
