Hard­ing holds off Oua­chita Bap­tist

Kel­lie Lampo scored 27 points and had 10 re­bounds to lead Hard­ing Univer­sity to a 79-75 vic­tory over Oua­chita Bap­tist on Satur­day in Searcy.

The Bisons (16-6, 11-5 Great Amer­i­can Con­fer­ence) shot 53 per­cent from the floor (31 of 58) and over­came 20 turnovers in beat­ing the Tigers (6-16, 4-12). They out­re­bounded OBU 39-28, hold­ing a 14-8 edge in sec­ond-chance points.

Hard­ing over­came OBU mak­ing 8 of 23 three-point­ers, in­clud­ing 5 of 10 by Rylee Laven­der, who had 20 points for the Tigers, along with Madi­son Brit­tain.

Cheyenne Brown had 17 points for Hard­ing and Carissa Caples fin­ished with 15.

In other games, in­volv­ing state Di­vi­sion II teams, Ja­cie Hig­gins scored 18 points and Han­nah Villines had 17 points and 9 re­bounds to lead Arkansas Tech Univer­sity (10-12, 7-9 GAC) over South­ern Arkansas Univer­sity (2-20, 1-15) in Mag­no­lia. Ke’Von­shaye Stack­house added 15 points and Lyrik Wil­liams scored 14 for the Golden Suns. Tam­era Shaver led SAU with 13 points. … Pink Jones scored 23 points, had 5 re­bounds and 4 as­sists to lead Hen­der­son State Univer­sity (16-6, 11-5 GAC) to a vic­tory over the Univer­sity of Arkansas at Mon­ti­cello (5-16, 4-12) in Mon­ti­cello. Macken­zie John­son and Jaida Harden led the Cot­ton Blos­soms with 13 points apiece.
