A battle of good, evil

-

I watched the recent State of the Union address by President Trump and was impressed. Trump talked not only of his successes, but of those of everyday Americans, of our military heroes and of the impressive economy that we are enjoying today. He again spoke of his support for religious freedom and for the sanctity of human life. He talked of the importance of unity and the need for all Americans to work together and of the need to keep our country secure. He pointed out that all Americans have the right to be safe in their homes and on their

lands, not just the rich and famous.

Thursday I watched the president at the National Prayer Breakfast as he praised God and once again reminded us that we are created in God’s image. He quoted scripture and reminded us that human life begins in the womb as a gift from God and needs to be protected. He stood strong against religious persecution around the world, including anti-Semitism.

As I watched I thought that the president might find someone at the event who could help Nancy Pelosi and Kamala Harris. During the State of the Union I sometimes thought that I was watching scenes from The Exorcist as they contorted, squirmed and twisted their faces in anger and hatred. There were times when Pelosi looked as if her head might spin around while she spat green soup. We really are in a battle today between good and evil. DALE LANGE Bella Vista
