BRYANT — Irma Lee (Brewer) McCrotty, 82, of Bryant went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 17, 2019. She was born April 4, 1936, to the late Sidney and Brunie Mae (Lemons) Brewer. She was a member of Olive Hill Missionary Baptist Church for 60 years and retired after 25 years of service from the Pulaski County Special School District. She loved her family, to garden and sew, but was best known for her cooking and helping others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Leonard Brewer and sisters Edith Mashburn, Elzie Mashburn, Leathia Mae Crutchfiel­d and Lela Bell Benight.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Henry McCrotty; two sons, Rick (Cindy) McCrotty and Charles (Cathy) McCrotty, all of Bryant; grandchild­ren, Lesley (Shane) Smith of Jonesboro, Jessica (Josh) Vaughn of Benton, Zach (Casey) McCrotty and Chaz (Mechalle) McCrotty of North Little Rock; great-grandchild­ren, Seb, Gavin, Judson, Barrett and Merritt. Brother Harley Brewer, sisters, Barbara McCrotty, Joann Reynolds, Helen Weymouth, Mary Davis, Sidney Scoles, Carolyn Smith and Brenda Zelada, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Shirley loved spending time with her family, spending time fishing and rocking in her rocking chair. She loved caring for all her pets.

CONWAY — Charles Thelbert Pinkett, 81, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019, in Mayflower, Ark. He was born August 1, 1937, in Bald Knob, Ark., to William Oscar and Clara Evans Pinkett. After graduating from Bald Knob High School, Charles served in the Army National Guard. He then enjoyed distinguis­hed careers at both Graco Incorporat­ed and Nick’s Equipment Company.

Charles loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He enjoyed working in his yard and was an avid sportsman. Charles also loved attending sporting events and was a loyal supporter of the Mayflower Eagles. Charles was actively involved in the community. He could be found every Saturday morning with his “breakfast club” and every Thursday evening at Dondie’s restaurant. Charles was a member of Mayflower First Baptist Church.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marcella. He is also survived by two devoted children: Mike Pinkett (Rhonda), and Julie Mabry (Bobby); four grandchild­ren, Kate Jones (Dustin), Ragan Mabry, Stacy Lemieux (Brent), and Lane Mabry (Abby); four great-grandchild­ren, Reece, Haylea, Bennett, and Lanie. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mayflower First Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 19, 2019 from 5 - 7 pm at Mayflower First Baptist Church. CONWAY — Marilyn Jeanette (Jan) South Strange of Conway, Arkansas, passed away on February 16, 2019. Jan was born on January 14, 1941, in Wynne, Arkansas, to Minnie Louise Melton South and Ezra Lee South. She was preceded in death by her parents. Jan will be remembered for her kindness and giving spirit, and her unwavering love for her family.

She was active in her community as a member of the Conway Junior Auxiliary and the Hendrix Dames.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 58 years, Vance Medlock Strange, Jr., two daughters Monda Strange Fason of Conway and Jennifer Strange Gilliland and husband Jeff Gilliland of Birmingham, Alabama. She will be missed by her grandchild­ren Emily Fason, Anna Gilliland, Adam Gilliland, and great-grandson Levi Fason.

She also survived by three brothers, a sister, and their spouses: Rose Marie South Hanks and husband Edward Hanks of Fairbanks, Alaska; Jesse Lee South and wife Sydney Simpson South of Austin, Texas; Larry Eugene South and wife Jeanne Shawhan South of Annapolis, Maryland; Ronnie Lee South and Lynndy Luker South of Chesterfie­ld, Virginia.

A memorial service service will be held in Conway on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at 3 p.m. at Greene Chapel at Hendrix College, 1600 Washington Ave., Conway, followed by interment at Lakeside Cemetery in Stamps, Arkansas.

CRAWFORDSV­ILLE — June Robinson Sumner Glenn, of Crawfordsv­ille, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at the age of 92, on February 5, 2019, at Pleasant Valley Living Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.

June was born on June 24, 1926, in Memphis, Tenn., to Paul Creekmore Sumner and Louise Robinson, both from Sumner, Miss. Joseph Burton Sumner, June’s great-grandfathe­r, was the founder of Sumner, Mississipp­i and was also the first mayor of Sumner.

June was preceded in death by her husband, William (Billy) Morris Glenn, whom she married December 1, 1946, in Sumner, Miss. Billy was born on April 6, 1926 in Memphis, Tenn., the son of Grover Cleveland Glenn and Annie Morris, both from Crawfordsv­ille, Ark. June and Billy honeymoone­d at The Peabody in Memphis, Tenn.

In the fall of 1945, June received her pilot’s license in a J3 Piper Cub at Memphis Flying Service and had a varied and exciting career as executive secretary for the president of Delta Refinery and J.C. Rainer Enterprise­s, both in Memphis, Tenn.

She also worked as a bookkeeper for Twist Farms in Twist, Ark., handling tedious numeric accounts for thousands of acres of farmland in two states. June was a member of the Third Church of Christian Scientists in Memphis, Tenn.

June’s artistic soul was expressed through her stained glass creations, woven baskets, oil paintings and hand sewn clothing. June also enjoyed creating small bronzes and working in her beautiful, landscaped yard. While on vacation in 1976, Billy and June floated the Colorado River and ventured on to the Bay Area near San Francisco where they danced together in the Oak Room in Oakland. Many other dancers left the floor to admire their smooth footwork and obvious love of dance.

June was preceded in death by a son, William Morris Glenn Jr., born December 3, 1948 and passed away February 18, 2018. She is survived by a daughter, Luann Glenn, born February 16, 1955 of Little Rock, Ark. June, the oldest of three siblings, is preceded in death by her sisters, Taylor Simpson Sumner (Spradling), Eleanor Joy Sumner (Meyer) and a brother Paul Creekmore Sumner Jr.

ENGLAND — Mrs. Floyd “Sissie” Turner, 83, passed away February 17, 2019, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, AR after a long battle with cancer. She has always been known as “Sissie”, a name her eldest brother gave her when he initially saw her after her birth.

Sissie Bradshaw Turner was born on June 11, 1935, in Star City, Ark. She grew up in Wright, Ark., and attended Plum Bayou School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of England, Ark.

Sissie and Floyd were married 62 years when he passed away on December 11, 2015. Sissie loved her children and grandchild­ren first and foremost. Secondly, she loved to travel with her husband. They toured many countries and almost every state. She and her closest friends, Mary Jane Rollins, Bobbie Lynn Henderson and Karen Whitehead went on numerous trips and she loved every minute.

Nothing could ever take place, until her hair was done by her hair dresser, Delbert Minton. She always said he and his wife were the best of friends. Sissie was a wonderful cook and known for her pies!

Sissie was predecease­d in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Jefferson Bradshaw. Her husband, Floyd; son, Timothy; daughter, Kimberly Diane; her brothers, Harold and Kenneth Bradshaw; and her sister Bobbie Oliger.

She is survived by her daughter Sheree Hillis (Greg); daughter-in-law, Mala Turner; two granddaugh­ters: Rachel Jackson (Barry) and Hanah Henderson; two grandsons: Ryan Henderson and Jackson Turner; great-grandchild­ren: Greer and Connor Jackson and Turner Henderson; her sister: Bettie Phillips; brother John Bradshaw; her sister-in-law, Patsy Wallace as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
