Rain in forecast delays NLR event
A “high probability” of heavy rain has caused the postponement of today’s groundbreaking ceremony for the 600 Main Building in North Little Rock’s downtown, the city’s Convention and Visitors Bureau announced in a statement Monday.
The event will be rescheduled, the statement said.
The North Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau will occupy the first floor of the planned $6.97 million building and will manage the nearby, city-owned Argenta Plaza already under construction. The bureau will relocate from its offices in Burns Park.
The bureau will be an equal owner of the three-story building along with the Arkansas Automobile Dealers Association and Taggart Architects.
Each owner will occupy its own floor.
Groundwork on the building began about three weeks ago.
