BLACKSBURG, Va. — Kyle Guy scored 23 points and No. 3 Virginia pulled away in the second half to beat No. 20 Virginia Tech 64-58 on Monday night.

Ty Jerome added 16 points and De’Andre Hunter had 10 for the Cavaliers (23-2, 11-2 Atlantic Coast Conference), who swept the regular-season series and won for the sixth time in their last eight visits to Cassell Coliseum.

Kerry Blackshear Jr. had 23 points and 13 rebounds for the Hokies (20-6, 9-5), who played their sixth game in a row without floor leader Justin Robinson (injured foot). Ahmed Hill added 16 points, but the Hokies made just 3 of 27 three-point attempts.

NO. 22 WISCONSIN 64, ILLINOIS 58

MADISON, Wis. — Brad Davison scored 18 points, Khalil Iverson added 16 and No. 22 Wisconsin held off Illinois.

The Badgers (18-8, 10-5 Big Ten) grinded out a victory over Illinois (1016, 6-9) with leading scorer Ethan Happ on the bench down the stretch.

Happ, who averages 18 points, scored 6 points on 3-of-7 shooting, was 0 for 3 from the foul line and had 3 turnovers, including one just before he sat out the final minutes.

Aaron Jordan finished with 12 points for the Illini, while Ayo Dosunmu added 11 and Bezhanishv­ili 10.

NO. 23 KANSAS STATE 65, WEST VIRGINIA 51

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Barry Brown scored 21 points and Kansas State remained atop the Big 12 standings.

A 14-0 run midway through the second half, led by two three-pointers by Xavier Sneed, gave the Wildcats (20-6, 10-3) their fifth consecutiv­e conference road victory.

Sneed added 19 points for Kansas State, including five three-pointers. Dean Wade scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds.

Lamont West led West Virginia (10-16, 2-10) with 16 points.

SWAC MEN UAPB 73, ALCORN STATE 62

Shaun Doss led the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff with 25 points and 6 rebounds while making 6 of 8 field goals and all 12 free throws in a game televised on ESPNU at H.O. Clemmons Arena in Pine Bluff.

Martaveous McKnight added 12 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists, and Marquell Carter had 10 points and 3 assists for the Golden Lions (11-15, 8-5 SWAC).

Maurice Howard led Alcorn State (8-17, 4-9) with 13 points and four rebounds. Reginal Johnson had 10 points and 5 rebounds, and Devon Brewer had 10 points for Alcorn State.

UAPB outscored Alcorn State 20-11 from the foul line and had a 36-24 rebounding edge.

UAPB led 29-21 at halftime, then led 60-40 with 6:54 left.

SWAC WOMEN UAPB 66, ALCORN STATE 57

Noe’ll Taylor scored 17 points, Kye Richardson had 14 points and 5 rebounds and Atitiana Vincent added 12 points and 7 rebounds to lead the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (5-15, 2-11 SWAC) to a victory over Alcorn State at H.O. Clemmons Arena in Pine Bluff.

The Lady Lions led 15-10 after the first quarter, 35-33 at halftime and 4842 after three quarters.

Jada Hargrove led Alcorn State (4-21, 3-10) with 14 points, De’Asia Brown had 12 points and Toddriana Isler chipped in 10.

UAPB held Alcorn State to 31.4 percent (22 of 70) shooting from the floor, including 4 of 20 on three-pointers. UAPB outrebound­ed Alcorn State 52-39 and had a 11-5 edge in second-chance points. UAPB won despite shooting 12 of 28 (42.9 percent) on free throws.
