Academic excellence, a vibrant campus, Division I athletics and an energetic college town all help prepare University of Central Arkansas students for success. Named one of the Best Regional Universities in the South by U.S. News & World Report, the diverse student body includes students from 59 countries, 46 states and each county in Arkansas.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

Students may choose from more than 150 degree and certificate options, which include undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. The university’s innovative academics feature hands-on opportunities, as well as professors who invest in their students. Last fall, the university welcomed its most academically qualified incoming class, with students having an average composite ACT score of 24.4 and a composite high school GPA of 3.55.

The Norbert O. Schedler Honors College was the first in Arkansas and continues to provide an interdisciplinary approach to learning through small classes taught in seminar format. Scholars benefit from an interdisciplinarystudies curriculum that emphasizes scholarship, leadership and citizenship, preparing them for active involvement in civic life that draws upon research skills acquired at UCA.

VIBRANT CAMPUS

The UCA campus provides an active community of more than 200 clubs, service organizations and opportunities for students. This includes learning, leadership, community building, creative expression, volunteerism, mentoring and much more. UCA’s broad and diverse network of local, regional, national and international community partners offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for students.

For 100 years, the Greek system at UCA has offered an opportunity for involvement that is truly unique. Scholarship, leadership, brotherhood and sisterhood, community service and social activities are the key elements of more than 20 fraternities and sororities at UCA.

UCA was the first public university in Arkansas to establish living and learning communities and, since opening the first Residential College in 1997, continues to offer the largest, most comprehensive program in the state. In each Residential College, students take classes together and participate in engaging activities outside of class led by a live-in faculty member and peer mentors. Students also engage local and global communities through volunteerism, service-learning projects and study-abroad opportunities.

Each year, UCA students organize The Big Event, where students, faculty and staff come together to give back to the Conway community through volunteer service.

ENERGETIC COLLEGE TOWN

Conway is in one of America’s fastestgrowing areas and part of the state’s largest economy. A vibrant downtown features shopping, dining and entertainment. There are miles of biking and walking trails, and the UCA campus is within a short drive of rivers, lakes and state parks. With art galleries, a symphony and events ranging from live theater and music performance to yoga and painting classes, Conway offers activities for every student.
