UCA was the first public university in Arkansas to establish living and learning communities and, since opening the first Residential College in 1997, continues to offer the largest, most comprehensive program in the state. In each Residential College, students take classes together and participate in engaging activities outside of class led by a live-in faculty member and peer mentors. Students also engage local and global communities through volunteerism, service-learning projects and study-abroad opportunities.
Each year, UCA students organize The Big Event, where students, faculty and staff come together to give back to the Conway community through volunteer service.
