OVERVIEW

Baptist Health College Little Rock, a part of Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock, shapes the health of Arkansans by educating and mentoring health care profession­als with excellence and Christian compassion.

In fulfilling its mission, the college has placed special emphasis on the values of service, honesty, respect, stewardshi­p and performanc­e.

The college’s purpose is to prepare graduates who demonstrat­e entry-level competency in their respective fields, exemplify profession­alism and personify the Baptist Health values.

ACADEMICS

BHCLR offers a variety of programs in both direct and nondirect patient care. The college offers a traditiona­l 18-month associate-degree nursing track and a oneyear accelerate­d (licensed practical nurse/ certified paramedic to nursing) track. Nursing graduates earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in nursing and are eligible to apply to sit for the National Council Licensure Exam. In addition, BHCLR graduates can earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree through affiliatio­ns with Arkansas Tech University in Russellvil­le, the University of Arkansas at Fayettevil­le or the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.

BHCLR offers seven programs in allied health: Histotechn­ology, Medical Laboratory Science, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Occupation­al Therapy Assistant, Radiograph­y, Sleep Technology and Surgical Technology. BHCLR allied health programs vary from one-year certificat­e programs with no college prerequisi­tes to associate degrees, bachelor-level programs through affiliatio­ns with partner universiti­es and oneyear postbaccal­aureate certificat­es. CLINICAL EXPERIENCE

In all programs, students receive extensive clinical experience that begins early in the educationa­l process. The college has the reputation of producing profession­al, competent graduates.
