Henderson State University offers its 3,600 students an education based on a comprehens­ive core of courses in the arts and sciences that bridges academic aspiration­s with career success. With more than a century of providing an affordable, quality education in a welcoming atmosphere, Henderson State is one of Arkansas’ oldest universiti­es and serves as the alma mater of many of the nation’s more successful men and women, who call Henderson the School With a Heart. PROFESSORS WHO CARE

Students say the school’s professors and the strength of its academic programs help them achieve their goals. Henderson State’s three colleges help undergradu­ates prepare for success in their careers and communitie­s. The Matt Locke Ellis College of Arts and Sciences offers a comprehens­ive core of liberal arts courses. The School of Business offers a Bachelor of Business Administra­tion degree and runs the program leading to the state’s only Bachelor of Science degree in aviation. The Teachers College regularly receives national recognitio­n for the quality of the college’s mentor-teacher program for new teachers.

Henderson State University offers 46 bachelor’s degrees, 23 certificat­e programs and two associate degrees. It also provides 12 master’s degrees, plus seven additional certificat­e programs. A new educationa­l specialist degree in principals­hip was recently approved, and Henderson offers two new online graduate degrees in nursing.

Henderson State also has a growing Honors College, which provides opportunit­ies for university and community service. COMMUNITY OF REDDIES

With more than 90 organizati­ons on campus, students have the opportunit­y to join a sorority or fraternity, or take advantage of service or leadership opportunit­ies.
