■ Brendan Wiley, director of the Topeka Zoo in Kansas, said a zookeeper who was mauled by a Sumatran tiger suffered lacerations and puncture wounds in her head, neck and back, and a city spokesman said the attack was witnessed by some zoo patrons.
■ George Zimmerman, the ex-neighborhood watch volunteer in Florida who was acquitted on the grounds of self-defense in the shooting death of unarmed teen Trayvon Martin, has been banned from the dating app Tinder, which cited users’ safety as a reason for removing Zimmerman’s profile.

■ Brandon Smirnoff, a former investigator with the Tallassee Police Department in Alabama, faces up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to slamming a handcuffed man to the ground multiple times and knocking his head into the side of a patrol vehicle.
